WANTED: Media Circus

Over the course of the books, the Pretty Little Liars are subjected to intense media scrutiny. However, the sudden loss of attention can be just as jarring as the sudden gain.


"The following morning, Hanna walked down the path from the student parking lot toward school. Channel 6, Channel 8 and CNN news vans were parked at Rosewood's main entrance. Reporters hunched behind the bushes like lions on the prowl. Smoothing her auburn hair, Hanna braced herself for their barrage of questions.

The reporter closest to her stared for a moment and then turned to the others. 'Never mind,' he shouted. 'It’s only that Pretty Little Liar girl.'" ~Wanted, p. 49


Like Hanna, celebrities can go from being media darlings to yesterday's news overnight. If you were suddenly dropped from the spotlight, would you do something drastic to get noticed - or just be thankful for the privacy?

this may be the most easiest question on the site so far! They were COMPLETELY hating the spotlight because of all of the lies that the media was putting out! Hanna was in a Mental 'Facility' and it was publicized in people!!! if she really hated the spotlight... wouldnt she be greatful for the break??

i woulda been sad if the spot light was for something good like being an actress and you new movie just came out but they were being totally bashed about something totally not their falt.

@ mikki hanna is not blonde she is a brunette and wears it proud...someones been watching to much tv. and i would do something crazy and drastic if it made me the it girl again

ok so Wanted was great but I agree that it was very disappointing how Sara didnt answer some mysteries. i think she should write another book either about Ali and Courtney's life or about Ali's life after escaping the fire. i think wanted was crammed but i loved it. the show is well...not my favorite. wont they have trouble with Spencer when they get to the part about Spencer and Ali being sisters? and Emily's mom is supposed to hate Maya not invite her to spend the night... and Mona is supposed to have blonde hair. it is not that hard to go by the book. all it does is make people that read all of the books upset and frustrated.

it depends on how i got the attention... i kind of love attention and drama.. so i probably would do something... :p... but i wouldnt do something that would make the situation worse.

I know that this is really off topic from the question, but I think that the PLL show should've done their research on the characters a little more. They could've found great actors to play the part of the girl that they resembled, both physically, and personality-wise(somewhat of course, I mean they're actors). But still, Spencer should not look like an old lady, Hanna should not look like what Spencer would, and Aria looks like what I pictured Hanna as. Also, Emily should have red hair and freckles right, though she is the prettiest on the show.

@Heidi I agree with you on the Spencer thing. When I first saw her coming back to the barn on the first episode, I really thought it was Ali's mom looking for her. She looks more like a mom's age than what she's supposed to be. Anyways, I would love that the press got off my back, but I wouldn't want them to be so rude about it. I would be kinda hurt if someone said just that liar girl.
