I'm already dissapointed just from the trailer... they didn't even attempt to make the actresses look like their characters.... Where's Emily's red hair and pale skin? And why isn't Hannah fat on the day Ali was murdered? That's an important thing because that leads to all her insecurities and desire to be a queen bee..... I don't know, i think they were just being lazy which is dissapointing because this is a GREAT book and I don't wanna see it get ruined :[

I feel your pain, April. The books are really, really close to my heart - but I honestly do think the show is going to be good in its own way. They're not "our" Pretty Little Liars, but it's a great cast. We'll see!

i kno rite i kinda feel that they should of made it a movie with sequals like harry potter i just got off the abc family website and saw sum pics of tha cast and there r SOOOOOOOOO many complaints and i dont blame them i wonder how Sara Shepard feels about this but dont get me wrong im still gunna watch it maybe im bein a lil overdramatic but if sumthins already good DONT MESS WITH IT!!!!!!!!

Like I'm excited for thee show in a way but its jsut gonna be soo wrong and there are only like 5 girls in my grade who reads the book and there soo excited like OMigawd I cant wait but like they dont even no what its about or how great it trulyy is!

I'll watch but I won't be excited about it. But don't worry guys! My night just KEEPS getting WORSE! :D My older sister won a gold medal in the scholastic competition (Art competition) for a picture she took, and she and my mom left for NY City this morning for the ceremony. They get to stay until friday. I choose to stay here because I have two finals during this week. And now, my dad has to work late so I can't get Wanted until tomorrow.

I can't get Wanted either...all though i know what happens...i'm not gonna spoil it for any one, but i will say it's pretty good...i still wanna read it just to clarify some things...i'm excited about the show, even though the cast is nothing like in the book...but the same storyline, right?

I read the series but hvnt finished sadly i can not find the books, hopefully they'll have them when every1 starts reading cuz of the series. And yeah the characters dont quiet fit the description but in vampire diaries they didnt and it is a good show...maybe this will be too

OMG! i just started reading Wanted. i have to say it is the best book in the series. Im not that far into it, but i cant seem to put it down. cant wait for the show to strat in half in a hour.

SPOILER**************************************************** i read wanted on like the 5th but im soo sad it is over!!! and i cnt wait for the series cause it looks good and ive decided to not even try to compare the tv show with the books because ill hate the tv show cause of the characters and they r bound to change some things so i reli hope that the tv show is good and i cnt wait it starts in like half an hour but i cnt wait that long!!

The books are absolutely amazing and the show is already horrible. The casting is terrible and the storyline destroys the books. I hate the show.

watching the show now and although their are many differences in the first 15 mins I must say I think Im gonna like!!! I must agree hannah should be fat! or a little more chunky! I will keep watching and see what happens I will know by the end of the show if Im hooked or not.

Well, I haven't read the books yet but considering I just watched the first episode and loved it, now its another book collection I will have to own. I'm geeking out wanting to know the big secret! I don't like waiting! I'd rather read the books which are according to previous comments: way better then the show. Good job.

Uggh! The PLL show was suchhhhhh a dissapointment!!!!! I hate it! It's nothing at all like the books what so ever! & I also hated it how they squeezed the whole 1st book 2gether as one episode! The cast looks nothing like the characters! Spencer looks 2 old! & really! They were 13 when Ali went missing!!! In the show they're 15! & Hanna was suppose 2 be fat! Well whateves!

So im not going to lie. the tv show really upsets me. None of the girls look like what the boy leads them on to look like. Spencer is supposed to have blonde hair. hannah's character fits the spencer part. Emily is supposed to be PALE with red hair. how are they going to show later down the road that emily's parents are racist when they have her as a darker skinned girl in the first place? Mona and Jenna were also supposed to have blonde hair. What about when spencers backyard caught on fire and the dont know if its mona or ali? ALSO. ali was missing for more than a year by the way. and all the flash backs were supposed to of happened when they were younger like 13, not 16. i think they could of tried A LOT harder to make the girls look like they were supposed to.

Okay you guys, seriously judge the people by their acting capability, not their looks. i personally thought most of the actresses caught the essence of each character. and how is the tv series so different than the first book? everything happened pretty much the same way. they may have changed a few details, but all the same things pretty much happened. the only thing i dont like is how its one year instead of three. its probably because they wouldnt be able to find younger girls and older girls to look close enough to each other for it to make sense. but there is one more person i hate: ALI. shes way too innocent looking, not daring and controlling like she's supposed to be.

they went through the whole first book in an hour, commercial breaks included. emily looks kinda hott, eh? in the book she doesn't sound all that cute. mona looks too innocent. the only one who looks like she's described is jenna. perrr-fect. idk, i dont think i like aria so much..she seems a little too strange. the whole "hanging mouth slightly open &showing mi top teeth" is NOTT workin out. spencer looks like a snob. hanna is pretty close, the only thing is she's blonde. but i think it'll be a good series. (:

OMG I feel the same way as most of you. I've read the books and the whole time instead of really getting to enjoy it, I was critiquing everything! The thing that bothers me most is Spencer's hair. She's suposed to be blond! And Hanna not being fatter on the flashbacks..UGH! But I am glad they did a show because it takes me back to the beginning of the series and it's been awhile since I've read them. The cast said the second episode is going to be better and they are moving set and stuff, so we'll see!

I wonder if the big twist from Wanted will be on the TV show too. If you recall, they focused on Jenna a lot on the tv show last night. Her face looks like Ali's. Maybe on the show Ali will be Jenna. I was VERY dissapointed with the characters. Spencer and Melissa ARE BLONDE! Emily IS NOT ETHNIC looking, she has red hair and she's pale. Aria completely fits though. (: Oh, and Hanna. Don't even get me started. Hanna does NOT have blonde hair, and Mona doesn't have dark hair. WHAT WERE THE CASTING DIRECTORS THINKING? It pisses me off.

Was anyone else a little dissappointed of the show??? I mean they skipped a lot of stuff. They didnt even show the guys. They basically did the whole first book in one show. If they do one book for every show then the series will be over in like 9 episodes. Personally I think they should have showed the guys more, got the details right (Hannah stole a tiffany bracelte not sunglasses), and made the charaters more like the ones in the book. Also it was soppossed to be like a 3 years from when Ali dissappeared not 1. I just wished they paid a bit more close to the details. Its going to bother me if they keep switching things up from the books. We, well atleast me, wanted to watch the show cause we thought it would be just like the books but I guess we, I, was just wrong.

Last nights episode was amazing that put alot of effort and hardwork into it. I'm on book number six but no library no where around me sells the book so i've been reading it online which is limited and i love reading it in my room being that's where my imagination flows best. The actress/actors for Pretty Little Liars the series are doing an incredible job i got my mom and 4 of my cousins to start watching the show with me and they were all saying "no wonder why you were so into those books this show is amazing!" and all i could say was i know my cousins going to start the series soon as school starts....sooo thanks pretty little liars you amazing. -A P.S. that's my text signature (lol)

Actually, I think Wanted is the last book to the PLL series. Anyways, I totally agree w/ Nicole! I think that the people inved w/ the making of the show should've at least tried a little bit harder to make the show like the books. I think it's just crazy, I don't understand how the PLL fans actually like the show. The cast members are nothing like how Sara described them in the books. Ali was suppose 2 be some beautiful goddess, I don't think the girl that plays her is much pretty at all. Emily has red hair and she's pale. Hanna has a brownish color hair. The person who plays Aria quite suits her. Spencer and Melissa has blonde hair not brown. And isn't Spencer suppose 2 look almost similar to Ali?

The show its as detailed as the box i watched it all 3 times it came on lol. It still gives all important details though still love it anyway lol

To April omg stop complaining about one little mistake did u even watch the episode she wasn't fat but in one part Allison told Hanna to stop eating cookies it's gonna make her fat so please pay attention to the episode closely before complaining thanks that would be nice and stop complaining about hair and how it's not the same color really people show u have some common sense plz u know that the movie or tv show is never the exact same as the book so plz stop complaining over hair color that would be great oh and try to think about how hard they mustve worked to make this show so be grateful and not unappreciative plz

umm... to "secret" lol incase you didnt notice i wrote im already dissapointed "FROM THE TRAILER" aka i hadnt seen the show yet. the show was okay... the actors were fine but idk the tv show really didnt capture the creepiness of the book.... the book was actually scary and the show was a little bit too cheesy... They needed to take more time to develop the characters and stretch out the first book throughout a few episodes... idk I'll keep watching because I'm curious

I spent the entire afternoon once I got back from school reading wanted. I can not believe the series is over. I am so obsessed with the pretty little liars. I could not believe Ali had a twin and that she had really killed everyone. It turns out that Courtney wasn't the true psycho and Ali was. I cant believe its over. SARA PLEASE WRITE MORE BOOKS IN THIS SERIES! IT CAN'T BE OVER! ah.

@briiiboo- there's 8 books. 1-Pretty Little Liars 2- flawless 3- perfect 4-unbelievable 5-wicked 6-killer 7-heartless 8-Wanted. Ughh the show dissapointed me. The cast, the storyline.... Everything was missing something... WHERES SPENCER's BLONDE HAIR?! WHERES HANNA's BROWN HAIR?! WHERE'S EMILY?! lol. Aria is the only one im happy with (fav character also after spencer) Ugghhh and isnt the maya emily relationship supposed to be interracial?! UGHHH. AWESOME BOOKS and the show just killed EVERYTHING besides aria lol

Like seriously, in the trailers, I had to FIGURE OUT who everyone was, because Spence is supposed to be blonde, but the blond girl turned out to Hanna, and the girl who plays Emily should be a white redhead. The person who best fits their role was Aria! They should have used the models has the characters on the show, it would have been so much better.

I like the cast the only worrisome thing is that spencer and melissa are not blonde...as of heartless and wanted these details start to matter because they are supposed to look like ali/courtney, that is going to be COMPLETELY messed up once they get to it in the show.

Thank you, Emy-Bee! I read all these comments and yours finally said what I was thinking! I read the last book (after all the other ones). HOW ARE THEY GOING TO MAKE IT WORK???!!!!?!?! It is a MAJOR thing that Melissa and Spencer look like Ali and Courtney!! Also in one of the middle books (sorry, cant remember), Spencer has memory issues and starts to think she had something to do with the murder because Ian says he saw 2 blondes that night (now we know that it was Courtney and Ali). Not only are the characters screwed up, but the acting sucks and they are rushing!!! This book series showed people that pink covers and pretty girls on the front DOES NOT mean that the inside is a dark story; these producers are screwing it up!!
