Make Your Own Luck: A Recipe
Posted at 10:58AM Aug 01, 2008 by Kerry Shaw in Talent Advice
Ever notice how some people just get lucky all the time?
In Zoey Dean’s TALENT, Emily takes a vacay to LA, meets her celeb crush and gets a starring role in a movie. Um, hello. Jealous! I still haven’t met Shia LaBoeuf. But it’s no wonder Zoey writes about lucky people—she’s the luckiest person I know. She gets to do what she loves, she has fascinating friends, and she travels all over the world.
Zoey and I were at Sprinkles Cupcakes in Beverly Hills this weekend and I asked her how she got so lucky. “I have a recipe,” she whispered. “Put it on the blog.”
And so, my friends, here is a recipe for making your own good luck, right from Zoey. (Fun fact: this is the only recipe she knows!)
Serves One (You)
- One part: Know what you want or be open to discovering it
- One part: Remember all the times you’ve been successful in the past
- Dash of Failure (Just enough to taste!)
- Sprinkle on more reminders of your past successes
- Let simmer with Patience
- Enjoy! No really—enjoy your good luck! Dare I say…brag about it?
So, tell me, what’s the luckiest thing that’s ever happened to you?
