Back to School Basics

Adieu, summer…Are you ready to go back-to-school? Zoey and I are now back in LA after a blissful holiday in Biarritz.

Zoey loves returning, she always comes home a tad more tan and a touch more interesting. You probably do, too. Still, if you aren’t as sure of yourself as the Z, here are some tips on saying bonjour to back to school.

  1. Get a summer logline. In movie-speak, the logline is one sentence that sums up a movie. It’s fun, quick, and interesting. Same goes for your summer logline. When people ask how your summer was, give ‘em your logline, something along the lines of “It was great thanks, I went to Biarritz.” Feel free to elaborate with your BFFs, of course.

  2. Change one thing. Don’t go overboard on the new hair color/new look/new you thing. It has that whiff of “I’m-trying-sooooo-hard.” And you’re probably adorable as you are. Still, if you feel your image needs refreshing, pick ONE thing. Maybe add a bohemian scarf. Z will be wearing a blue silk headband she picked up in Toulon.

  3. Check-in with friends. You know how Mac is constantly checking in with her friends in TALENT? Like, tracking their schedules on their iPhones? No need to match Mac text-for-text, but a message here or there to send some love is always welcome.

  4. What happens in summer stays in summer…Secrets, dramas, crushes, loves—they’re all in the past. Only one place to look and that’s forward!

What about you? Any tips for transitioning back so school? What are you looking forward to/dreading? And if you’ve started, how’s it going? Do tell!!!

Hey ! This summer has been great, but I'm looking forward to going back-to-school. Today was registration day. It's when you gotta go to school to pick up your scheduale, meet new directors, and buy new textbooks but not the first day of school(it starts september 2nd). At first, when I just came, I dreaded it, feeling sick and stuff but when I met all the teachers, saw some old friends, and had a few good laughs, I felt really glad, like this new school year was made to forget the old and create the new. I'm pretty excited to make new friends, and have a tad of fun.

I totally agree with Britney! If you want the books to be successful like The Clique books then make them a movie and for sure a lot of girls like 11,12,13 will go see them.ttys<3
