Tips from an Ex-teachers-pet
Posted at 03:18PM Sep 19, 2008 by Kerry Shaw in Talent Advice
Hey, everyone!
In my recent posts, I've shared all sorts of deets about meeting celebs, walking the red carpet, and jet setting with Zoey Dean. But life as Zoey's #1 assistant hasn't made me forget life in school. In fact, this week's topic is: What to do when you're not clicking with one of your teachers! As an ex-teacher's pet, I have some foolproof tips (Zoey approved!):
- Smile. It’s easy to forget, but teachers are people, too. They like a friendly face just as much as the next person, maybe more. Imagine standing in front of a group of 30 people hoping they don’t hate you. That’s what teachers do every day.
- Don’t talk when he or she is talking. Duh, right? Imagine if someone interrupted you during a presentation! Tres annoying.
- Sit near the front … but not too near. This will do wonders for your concentration and you'll be able to make eye contact so your teacher knows that you're listening.
- Quit whining. This is a good life lesson in general. If you think a grade is unfair, tell your teacher you'd like to know why because you don't want to make the same mistakes again.
