Lovely readers!

Thank you for all your wonderful comments, I am so so so sorry I have been away this long! You see, what happened was, I finished Splendor, and the editing of it, which involved many late nights and rushed deliveries and freakouts before it became a final product that I get to be proud of. But it is the end, the last Luxe installment, the one where everyone rides off into the sunset of their choosing (more or less). And then I handed it over to the lady at the UPS store on Sunset Blvd (ha!), and off it went, and that was that, but it felt so… sad. And depressing. Because though I am really proud—not just of the book, but also of my characters, and how far they have come—I had begun to get used to them and all their desperate, passionate, irrepressible ways, and it was awfully hard to say goodbye. But the good news is—come October (late October, to be totally honest) the final book will be on book shelves, and then I can live it all again, and hopefully you will all tell me what you think, and everything will be new.

Anyway, many apologies for the silence. I have missed you all. Ask me questions, those of you hanging in, and I promise to answer!

Anna- I have re-read all of The Luxe books multiple times this Summer, and I absolutely can't wait until Splendor. I love the characters, the time period, and everything in your books. I was hoping that you would be writing more historical fiction books. They are my favorite kind, which is one of the main reasons I first started reading The Luxe. I really hope you do because then I would have another one of your series to fall in love with. Thank you so much for the hard work you put into your amazing books!

I’ve re-read them too & what a pleasure it was! Reading the three books without break is a very interesting thing to do. You can see more clearly the evolution of the characters and how they've grown up under your quill. As books pass they're more intense & lifelike. My favorite book till now is definitely Envy. It's so hard, so real and desperate. You have spared no one of your characters in it in both accounts: they all do terrible mistakes and they all endure so many pains! In this episode Henry is really the one who has touched me the most. He always tries to do the right things and always fails in every way. He can't be happy and most of all he can't help the one he loves to be happy. And the way you put him on the borderline of murder is just so well-done, so powerful! All your characters are great and incredible in Envy, so I can't wait till Splendor to see what you’ve done with them next. Greatings from France

Hi Anna! Oh my God, I am so happy you posted! I was driving myself crazy because I wanted you to post! But now that you have I am relieved. I have a question, are you ever going to write another series?

Posted by Rachael on August 28, 2009 at 07:48 PM EDT #

Hey, i just wanted to say i think your books are amazing! At first I was so confused but then i started to understand it all and i was hooked! Also once i started reading your novels i had them finished as soon as possible, I couldnt put them down! I am a huge fan of all historical fiction novels,(and there are so few, in my opinion) anyway i couldnt wait till you finished! im so excited!

You are one of my writing inspirations. Your books are the kind that drive me to want to write more, so I do, but then I miss the charecters immensely!! I love the world you have created and cannot wait until Splendor! I cannot seem to find your bio anywhere, and I was wondering how old you were. And, after Splendor, are you going to write more books? Are they going to be similar to Luxe series, or entirely different? I plan on publishing my book, and once I do, could I send you a signed copy? And could we become author buddies? Please let me know! My email is emberwriter1@gmail.com

ANNA!!! I tried not to scream when I saw you updated your blog! Thanks so much for updating it! Just want to tell you that your books are really amazing! I'm mesmerized by the characters and I find your books so alluring! Like the other readers, I can't wait for Splendor. Just hope the time before the release date passes as quickly as it can!

Posted by Christie on August 29, 2009 at 11:27 AM EDT #

I love the series. I've been counting down the days to October!!! Will you write another series? I hope so, you are my favorite author. But if not I will cherish all the Luxe books forever.

Posted by Liz on August 29, 2009 at 01:55 PM EDT #

Anna, I'm REALLY glad you're back!! *happy dance* Well, I can't wait for October-- isn't that when Splendor comes out? Are you going to write any more books (not necessarily just The Luxe series) after Splendor? Hopefully so! I hope you're doing well, and (again) glad you're back!

Posted by Hiba on August 29, 2009 at 02:15 PM EDT #

As another poster stated, your writing is sublime. I love all characters including Lina, in fact she may be my favorite due to her persistence and fortitude. Again, when can we get SIGNED copies of your masterpieces?

Posted by Verity on August 29, 2009 at 03:18 PM EDT #

I'm glad that you have finished! I'm soo excited for Splendor to hit book shelves... I guess you can consider me in line for the book right now. I can't wait to read your final book and I'm looking forward to future books by you. Go Splendor!

You know I am hoping that Ms. Anna will write something dealing with Greece I mean I love the mythology. She could pull that off. Her style remindes me off a modern Charlotte Bronte. Who is an excellent writer. Anyway I do agree with those of you who are sad that Splendor's the last book. But I always though you keep the books short and sweet and people will love them forever.

Posted by GabeFan on August 29, 2009 at 04:12 PM EDT #

It's been forever since you posted a letter or here. I can't wait for Splendor, but I'm sad that it's the last one. The Luxe is my favourite books series and They are my favourite books. What book are you going to write next I hope its just as excellent as The Luxe series. I also hope you do your other books from multipke point of view like The Luxe. I really want things to work out for Lina, and Elizabeth. Thy are my favourite characters as well as Teddy. Penelope deserves some kind of punishment.

Posted by Dan on August 29, 2009 at 07:23 PM EDT #

Just want to say I love your work Anna, you truly make me cry and love the amazing characters in the luxe series. In Envy you made me bawl my eyes out.BRAVO....NO,BRAVA!!!!! By the way I can't wait for Splendor. As soon as I see that book on Octuber I will run to it. :)

Posted by Ariel on August 29, 2009 at 08:13 PM EDT #

I LITERALLY don't think I'll be able to wait for late October!!!!!!!! You are a phenomenal writer, Anna! I really, really, really hope you write more books just as amazing as The Luxe series! And thank you for taking the time to post on here, because I know you're probably really busy making the book perfect :-) Can you maybe ask if they can move the publication date up a bit?? I'm a naturally impatient person.

Posted by Adriana on August 29, 2009 at 09:27 PM EDT #

It doesn't have to end! Actually, please don't let it end! Not yet? I'm very very sad that it actually just might end there. I can't get enough of Diana and after the 3rd book, I kind of can't forgive Henry but I still with out a doubt love it all. I wrote you on your myspace page and I'm a great appreciator of your novels. Trying to write my own actually! I cannot wait to read the 4th book. October is too far away!

Posted by Aleece on August 30, 2009 at 12:26 AM EDT #

I just finish Rumors yesterday and Envy this morning! :^) (My friend lent all 3 to me last week.) I can't believe that you killed Will! I cried a lot and that's some thing that I don't like to do. I didn't pick up Envy well almost didn't. Penelope, Lina and, Claire were so vile I couldn't stand it and I almost hated Henry. THey made Dianna's life horrid (or I guess you did that). I am also very cautious of the police right now. The next time I go to a train station I'm wearing a bright pink hat so know one knows who I am. Still I can’t believe that you killed Will! But I'm so glad that you didn't have Elizabeth get an abortion. I can't sit around till October with out going completely insane. All well good thinks come to she who wait's. (I think?)

Posted by Lucy A. on August 30, 2009 at 06:52 AM EDT #

Are you thinking of turning these books into movies? They are SOSOSO good!

Posted by Adrienne W. on August 30, 2009 at 11:17 AM EDT #

Anna, i absolutely love your books!!! I really, really, really hope you write another series that is also historical fiction. It's true, there aren't many out there for us to read about and yours are just so great! Keep posting so the wait can be more bearable for us.

Posted by Brittany on August 30, 2009 at 05:12 PM EDT #

hey Anna, I wanted to know how did you get the inspiration to write theses novels and why in that particular moment of history ?

Posted by Capellia on August 31, 2009 at 04:05 PM EDT #

I am in love with your books! Diana is so sweet and I can't get enough of Teddy! I'm a little mad at Henry right now, but i can't wait until Splendor. I've already pre-ordered it! Keep posting, I love all your books. October seems so far away! :)

Posted by Claire on August 31, 2009 at 10:08 PM EDT #

Please make these into movies! May I suggest Kimberly Nixon for the part of Elizabeth? She's the right age and looks perfect for the part!

Posted by Valeria on August 31, 2009 at 10:24 PM EDT #

Also, please get Megan Fox to do the role of Penelope? She's PERFECT for the role!

Posted by Valeria on August 31, 2009 at 10:25 PM EDT #

Can you give us some sneak previews or tidbits to last till the end of October? :D

Posted by Lexa on September 01, 2009 at 03:05 AM EDT #

I agree with Valeria and Lexa!!! I know I've already commented on this...but i just had to say I agree with those two girlies!

Posted by Amber P on September 01, 2009 at 03:18 PM EDT #

i love your books so so much!!!! i think they are amazing and i love the whole era. but i do have a question who is suppose to be the girl on the Splendor cover?

Posted by Allana on September 01, 2009 at 09:34 PM EDT #

I can't see Megan Fox as Penny, I think she's changed her appearance way to much and the person who plays Penny has to be confidant and happy with her look. I also think that if the books were to ever be optioned they should choose unknown actresses and actors that way they won't be remembered from past roles and type casted in the future

Posted by Sal on September 01, 2009 at 10:24 PM EDT #

Heyy anna, its been a pleasure reading you books and i cant wait for the last one to come out in stores, but i do have a question, is it going to come out world-wide in october?? i would much appreciate it if you replied thank you x

Posted by Zaheda on September 02, 2009 at 02:01 PM EDT #

Allana, the girl on the cover is supposed to be Lina. First is Elizabeth, then Penelope, then Diana, and at last, Lina.

i have recently read all three of the luxe books and was in love with them all by the time i had seen just the cover. i hadnt even known there was another book about to come out and now i simply cant wait untill the time comes i can sit down and once again read my favorite characters... your an amazing writer

Posted by heather lyons on September 02, 2009 at 04:48 PM EDT #

I read all three of the Luxe Books and they are amazing! The story has a great flow to it with dramatic happenings but they are not heavy so you don't get upset like other books. The characters are realisitic and all of them are so different with different problems which makes every page more interesting than the next! I'm so excited for Splendor and I have been waiting for it ever since Envy came out (which was the night I finished reading Envy). But I'm also really sad that Splendor is the last book of the series. I truly wish that there will be one more book at least before the series finish, I would hate to say good bye so soon! I am also wondering, will there be a TV show or movie of the Luxe Series or will you keep the characters in the book where they will be safe? :) Anyways, I love your writing..they are so good that I could still read your books with a migrane! Best best wishes, xoxox Thetis

I still have to get Envy! Ahhh!

Posted by alyssa on September 03, 2009 at 08:56 PM EDT #

Can you give us some sneak peeks of Splendor? I need more of The Luxe to hold me until Oct. 27!!!!!

Posted by Claire on September 03, 2009 at 11:24 PM EDT #

I do believe I read Envy in a matter of minutes... Well, it was two days. Such an amazing end to the work week, it was. I went ALL over town trying to find it because everyone had already seemed to have bought up the stores' last copies. I finally found it, but it was hidden behind some fertility book. ha ha. Thank you so much. You've got such talent, and I'm so looking forward to (and impatient for) the next book. I actually came to the site to find out when it would be in my hands. To find out it's two months away is both exhilarating and sad. That'll be the end of the series, so I hope it's, like, a billion pages long ;)

Posted by Brittany on September 05, 2009 at 11:10 AM EDT #

Are you making any other books? n_n

Posted by Adrian on September 07, 2009 at 09:46 AM EDT #

Hey Anna! I was wondering who was on the cover of all four books. It's driving me and my friends CRAZY!!!!!!! Thanks, ~Cassia

Posted by Cassia on September 28, 2009 at 12:01 PM EDT #

Anna, I discovered The Luxe over the summer when I was at Barnes & Noble. I picked up the first book and was unable to put it down. Over the course of the rest of that week, I tore through Rumors and Envy and I am eagerly awaiting the release of Splendor. You are an amazing author and I can't wait to see what you publish after The Luxe series.

Posted by Cassie on October 11, 2009 at 10:09 PM EDT #

n...im writing a book too..and i just cant imagine everything coming to an end..could you please tell us which one is your next project..and if you would consider to bring the luxe series to mexico..i mean is just a country away..and im sure people here would die to read it...thanks!

I absolutely loved Splendor. My sister knew how much I loved your books, so she gave it to me as a Christmas present. I managed to finish it within two days. The ending made me a little sad. When Diana left, I realized I had to pull my head out of the 1900s and back to the 2000s. It was such as sad feeling, but I loved the ending all the same. Will you be writing more books soon? If you are, I think its fair to let you know that I will definitely be reading it. :)

The book I have read- along with the rest of your books in the series- and i believed it was a very good book and I decieded to choose this book for my 'Bood Ad Project' for my English class! With Love, A Luxe Fan!
