Hello all!

It is so thrilling to hear from all of you who are reading Envy and having feelings about my little Diana and her twisted romance! I finished that book over three months ago, so it is so wonderful to have the events of that installment opened up again for me when I hear from readers. Meanwhile, I’ve been working on the fourth book, which is called Splendor, and while a part of me is so anxious to experience what is going on with my characters in this next chapter, a part of me is shy about finding out, is dragging my feet. Because this is going to be the last book in the series, and while I want each of these bizarre little imaginary people I’ve been living with for two and a half years now to have a satisfying conclusion, I have this contradictory desire not to let any of them go. It’s sort of like that relationship all of us have had at some point with one fellow or another where you know it can’t go on forever—you’ve got something, but it’s not a lasting something—and so you keep creating problems that are not The problem—they’re red herrings, problems that can be solved. So you do solve them—you break up and make up over them just so you can prolong the romance a little longer. All your friends wonder aloud why you go through all of that, and secretly you know it’s because you want to. Like in that Magnetic Fields’ song “I Don’t Want to Get Over You”:

“I guess I should take Prozac, right/ and just smile all night/ at somebody new/ somebody not too bright but sweet and kind/ who would try to get you off my mind/ I could leave this agony behind/ which is just what I'd do, if I wanted to/ but I don't want to get over you.”

You know what I mean, ladies? Oh, sigh. Back to work… but as usual, I’d love to hear what’s on your minds!

Anna, I loved Envy, and I really hope that all the characters end up with a happy ending. If Di and Henry don't work out, I will cry so hard. Yes, I know that I'm lame. I think we've all been wondering and hoping but we haven't gotten an answer yet. Obviously you would say if there was a movie deal going on currently, but what's the chance of there ever being one? I would love to see the Luxe on the big screen. :)

Anna, I absolutely love your books. :) Thank you so much for them! And, I, too, am so very thankful for the beautiful family now representing the United States. I'm very excited for Splendor and can't wait to hear back from you! And, going on Sadie's comment, I would also love to see a LUXE movie. Any offers? Sincerely.

Anna, I really enjoyed your books so much. I was getting so sad during Envy because of all the bad events that were happening to all the characters. I thought the end was really surprising and that its going to create such a great plot for Splendor! As posted by the others I really hope that at least Henry and Di end up together because they are my favorite couple. Can't wait for Splendor!

anna honestly i think u just need to keep writing and let the series keep because i am like obbsesed w/ this book and it cant end or i will like kill myself so just keep the series going or write another series but if u do another one i dont know how it can possibly top this one

Anna! envy was amazing. I agree with the others...Luxe would be an amazing film, but you would need to make sure it was done correctly.

Kate- I agree with you completely. If you're a Facebook member and a member of the group: "Fans of the Luxe", you can see what cast choices other fans have. Looking at that makes me want to cry slightly. I don't think Anna would have much control over the movie-I'm pretty sure writers sign away most/all their rights when doing a film or tv show. Btw Anna-really hoping for Lina to be ruined.

i absolutely loved envy!!! i was amazing and i cant wait for splendor!! i hope all the characters end up with some sort of happy ending- yes even penelope cuz even though shes mean she does have a good side and she deserves a happily ever after!

oh my god xDD i love all your books @.@ currently reading envy, and VERY excited to hear theres a fourth one coming out!! but also quite depressing that its coming to a close The Luxe on the big screen? that would be amazing i dont think ill ever be able to find another series of book like yours!

Well, I guess if I have to wait a whole year, you at least put my mind to ease that everyone will be happy! You should try some Southern fiction for any future books....we Southern belles can be quiet you-know-whats. :)

LUXE would be sooo great on the big screen! :D I would love for everyone to get happy endings except for two certain people who don't deserve them because they try to ruin other people's lives. Henry and Di make SUCH a cute couple, they would do anything and go anywhere for each other. :)

I absolutely loved envy I finished it in two days (I could have in one but I was too tired so I had to put it down). My favorite character is by far Diana and if she doesn't end up with Henry I would be so devastated. Anyway unlike some people I'm actually glad there's only one more book. It's not that I don't like your books, I love them, but I personally don't like book series. The only series that I have read are Harry Potter, Twilight, and yours. I just am the kind of reader that likes to know what happens, and I am so excited (and a little anxious) To see what happens next.

Wow envy was amazing! I was so said when Diana read that letter, I was actually starting to tear up.:( But my hope was restored when she went after him. You go get him diana! I was so happy to find out that Elizabeth stood up to her mother and said that she was going to have the baby. It is about time! Her mother needs a man or some kind of fling, just so she loosens up and stops wearing all that black. I got to say I am not a fan Of Carolina, she is a backstabbing woman ,who only uses people to get known. Gess she needs a slap.Anyways, the only thing that worries me is that Diana ends up with Henry. After all these sacrafices and hardships , she desereves to end up happily ever after with the man she loves! : ) Hope the next book is truly amazing! oh and does anyone know when the book comes out?? just an estimate?? anyways Happy Reading!

Oh my gosh! Your books are absolutely amazing, and you're my favorite author ever! I really don't want the series to end because they are SO good! When is the approximate date that Splendor is coming out? I really need it to know what happen to Di and Henry. Diana is my favorite character and I want her to have a happily ever after! ?????????? Love the books, as everyone else on this kick ass site does. I appluad your rounded characters and for giving my a heart ache when Will died, yes I cried for a long, long time. We all love you Anna, and believe me when I say no one wants the series to end with Splendor, what will I obsess with after the book is out???

i loved envy!! i hope they do make a movie that would be really cool. but i would choose the director carfully someone who is a big fan of the series so they dont mess up..kind of lik twilight where they took a lot of the good parts out....anna u should keep the series going..ur a talented writer and ppl love ur books

Oh, man. I love these books. I am soooo glad I started reading them and I am seriously in need of "Splendor" asap!!! I wish I could just time travel to the day it comes out and read it! That would be amazing. I just finished "Envy" and I loved it. I am so in love with every character because they seem so real. Diana is my favorite character (duh) and I can really relate to her, her relationship with Henry and her adventuresome spirit, so I am really hoping that she gets her adventure and Henry by the end of "Splendor"! Good luck with the next book! I am sure it will be amazing! P.S. I like Carolina. She may have her faults, but she is only human, fictional or not.

I simply adored the third installment I am so anxious to read the fourth installment but im also so nervous. i want the best to happen to all of the characters EXCEPT [Penelope and Carolina] they ALMOST all deserve a good ending. i'm so sad with what happened to elizabeth. but what teddy did was so brave hes my favorite male character i really WISH that we could go into his own point of view I really want to know what goe through his head. Anna your books are amazing I really am going to be sad when this series end but w ho knows maybe in the future of the future you might put out a sequel! a girl can dream right? no matter what book you write next i shall be running to the bookstore to get it! Anna I loved Envy!!! And as much as I try prolonging the process, I finished the book in 3 days!!! I love how the relationship with Diana and Henry is developing and yes, even with all the misunderstandings in between...without it they'll never truely realize how much they need the other to live!! Diana is my favourite character and I really want a happy ending for her! She has to end up with Henry!! And as much as love Henry, I literally shouted at the book when he gave in to his 'guilt' and slept with evil Penelope! X( I can't wait until Splendor comes out and I hope that the story unfolds to work out for every character (yes even the 2 evil ones...*cough*Penelope*cough*,*cough* Lina*cough*, ) P.S I'd also love love love to see The Luxe series translated on the silver screen!!!

I defineitely don't want the series to end! I agree with lots of other people too- the Luxe and other books would be great as films. Thanks for the song choice too, Anna. I'll be checking that out!

Anna, have you been spying on me? I am going through what you just described for three years! Haha. And it sounds like you've been there and done that too. I just don't know how to stop. Please don't stop your amazing series, and if you must please make it a happy ending. Hint: Diana gets Henry, Elizabeth gets Teddy, and NO ONE dies! Oh, and a movie would be great! Can't wait for Splendor!

Oh my god! I loved Envy. Is Di going off to war to find Henry? Is Penelope really pregnant? Please get a movie deal i really need to see the Luxe, Rumors, and Envy on the big screen. This series is really really good and i can't choose if this is better then twilight right now equal. Please finish the next book.

anna i think u should give penelope and lina a partially happy ending- they should pay for what they have done but end up happily :) also i LOVED envy even tho i read it from a different perspective- before elizabeth was always my fav but now im finding that i also really like diana :)

Oh my gosh. I am almost through reading Envy, and I already think I am about to explode. Anna, this has to be the best series I've ever read in my entire life!! When it's over.. I don't know what I'll do! I love your books, SO MUCH. I feel like I owe you just because you write them! Please keep it up! Every idea you have ever added to the series only made it better, and everything is SO intense. THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING!!

I am in love with these books. I know that this has been said five million times but I am praying for a happy ending for all the characters. I believe that every girl can relate to the Henry and Di relationship in some way so we all really want a happy ending for especially those two. Keep doing what your doing Anna!! <3 :)

oh my gosh! the entire series AMAZING!! im so in love with it! Henry and Diana need to be together and Penelope and Lina can just go die! i cannot wait for splendor!!!!!!!!!!! i read envy in like nine hours. i couldnt put it down! it was by far my favorite! except when henry slept with penelope. i mean come on! and i disagree with many of the people on here i dont think that there should be a movie. it would be ruined and i would be very disappointed. i mean look at twilight.

Im so happy that your thinking of letting them all have a happy ending!! it would be such a downfall if somebody died! especially diana and henry! there like the main people in the story that matters! please let elizabeth and her baby have a happy ending with teddy too! penelope needs to have somebody knock sense into her lets pray tHat you have that too!! plz let it be a satisfying ending for everybody (except penelope) LOVED ENVY BY THE WAY!

what im wondering now is who will be on the cover of splender!? =w= might it be one of the boys this time? Henry? Teddy? Perhaps both!? or lina?, though id perfer one of the boys over lina xD i havent gotten thorugh much of envy yet, but her grand up rise in socity in the first to books is making me guess that by the end of splender, shes going to fall and fall hard

As much as I love Henry and Diana together, I just HATED the fact that Henry slept with shallow and (probably) the craziest person to go through such lengths: Penelope! GRRR!! Le sigh. But I'm still hoping for Di and Henry together and reading bout Elizabeth is so heartbreaking :( But I do like Teddy. The Holland sisters have to go through much, although that's fine because not everything is perfect but hope they have their HEA. I think I'd prefer a t.v show instead of a movie~~ I can't wait for Splendor!!

Um....becca the three that have been on the covers are elizabeth, di and penelope. not lina. cuz penelope always wears red and her hair is really dark so its penelope. not being mean just letting you know.

Ahhh! I got so mad when Teddy went to war! He didn't even tell Elizabeth personally! Right when she needed him, he goes to war! Also, who was the girl that was in the midst of taking off her corset when the little bird flew by in the prologue? And I was disappointed that the cover didn't match up to anything in the book like the previous two did. Diana was never wearing a gorgeous white wedding like dress. :( Anywho, can't wait for the next one! Yay!!!

Hi Anna. I absolutely love ALL THREE BOOKS. I cant wait for Splendor to come out. Can you tell me when will you be publishing it? Will it be this year? I also hope you will get a chance to make all of your books on to the big screen too. That would be fabulous. Yeah I was crushed when Diane saw Henry and Penelope on the balcony. I am also crushed that Elizabeth could not live happily ever after with Will and their unborn child but at least she is somewhat happy now and taking care of. I was hoping she get to end up with Teddy but that didnt happen. sniff sniff. He could have just waited for a couple of days then they would have been together if he excepted her current condition. I cannot wait to read the last book so please please let us know when the book will be available. Thanks.

actually Brittany, Di was wearing a white dress, xD it matchs up dont worry, early in the book, henry is having a dream were hes horse back riding with Di, in his dream shes wearing a white dress =w=, and yes the girls that have been on the covers has been lizzy, penny, and Di

Hi Anna, I've just finished Envy and am enjoying your series. I'm sure I'm much older than your average reader but what got me interested is that I am a great fan of Edith Wharton. I wondered if you might reference her in any way in the series and saw her quote on the first page of The Luxe. I'm looking forward to the next and final installment. Keep up the good work. Remember, though, that Wharton's work is often brutally and subtly honest. Please keep it real. Not everyone gets a happy ending. Thanks for a modern take.

I agree with Gay... though the novel has its ups and downs..its happy moments and its sad...not everyone's story can end on a peak!! Your stories are shocking and raw when it comes to delving into human emotion and perception... and in doing so I think - thougH i know very little about writing - that the story does not necessarily need to end happily for everyone. Envy was the best and saddest installment yet! I feel sad that we only have one more book to anticipate :( At the end I couldn't stop crying because of Henry's letter. After Envy I feel like I know all the characters better and I never want to say good bye. Penelope makes me sooooo angry! If anything happens to Henry when he's off fighting I will cry so hard. Yeah, I could totally see The Luxe brought to the screen.

Could ANYONE of you USA people send me Rumors and Envy, or at least one of those books to Serbia, East Europe? :((( Only the Luxe novel has been translated here yet and I don't hear any rumors :) that the second book will be published soon...It may take 6 months at least and I'm dying to see what happens next! Hello Anna, I just wanted to say that i am hooked on your books. They are just simply amazing to my eyes. I have to say that i have only read The Luxe but planning on reading the others. But i can't manage to find the other books. I live in a small town and not alot of access to those sorts of things. I loved to books truley. Thanks for such wonderful books.

I agree with Lindsey! You SHOULD write a book about Southern Belles!! I absoutley love the Luxe series, but it would be AMAZING to have one about Southern girls so that those of us who are modern girls and the south can relate better to them. =) By the way, when do we get to see the new book cover? I soo can't wait to see it.

yeah i think if u do end the series u should right another series because u r a great writer and i love your books and i think if u write another series u should keep writing about books in history because u did a great job w/ this series and if u dare kill off another character i will like be very upset so please dont do that and u should hook teddy and elizabeth up or at least have teddy marry a nice philepino girl that walks around naked or what ever and i would be sooooo happy if penelope got aids and henry and dianna HAVE to end up together ok i think i have said enough so yeah bye

I just finished reading Envy and can not wait for Splendor. I want it to work between Henry and Diana. i'm also sad that Elizabeth had 2 marry Snowden. The luxe would make an ah-mazing movie, and really do not want the series 2 end!!!!!! ;)

I thought that Envy was kinda bittersweet....I really hope Diana and Henry have their happy ending, and so do Teddy and Elizabeth :) But I really hate Penelope and Lina, I hope they both get ruined...I also kinda hope thar Grayson and Isabelle can get together too...oh, and is it just me or does anyone else here think that there's something funny about Snowden? I've never liked him and I have this weird feeling about him....anyways, I really love these books and I really can't wait for SPLENDOR!! :)

So many authors prolong their characters stories and in the end, you drag on the series until it becomes ridiculously unbelievable that so many radical things could happen to one person; in that case, the books wouldn‘t be good, no matter how well it is written. There is a happy medium, each character can only have so many adventures, but it sometimes it feels unfinished to just leave them… I like reading books which follow the story of someone close to a former main character, that way the author and the readers each get a taste of their old friend, and get to see them through someone else’s eyes without the conflict which took place in their own story (or maybe with new conflict?). I have never written a book, but I can imagine, as an author having a hard time spotting the end, especially the conclusion of a series.

OMG i love the books and cant wait for Splendor!!! i was so upset about Elizabeth marrying Snowden...theres just something about him that i don't like or trust....i want her to end up with Teddy!!! i love Teddy so much!!! i hope there's a way she can be with him...i don't want him to die in the war or i'm going to cry! And i really want Henry and Diana to finally end up together i was getting a bit annoyed with all the mistakes they both kept making and all those misunderstandings. i totally agree i hate Lina with a passion and Penelope so i hope they get ruined! Can't wait til the 4th book comes out! i just really wanna know how it all ends...i hope it ends well! and i totally agree...you should end this series and make a new one....i'm hoping it comes out this year!

Dear Anna, I, like many, love your books. I went into the bookstore randomly the other day and say you have a 3rd one out! I had thought that Rumors was pretty new! It was a nice surprise. I just wanted you to know I'm great appreciation for your work. When I move to LA I'm going to get an agent just for the purpose of hoping to be cast in the Luxe if it were ever a movie! Which would be incredible! I would have fun just being an extra, wearing 19th century clothing. Please don't let the 4th be last! I love it too much.

i absolutely LOVE the luxe series!!! also Olivia Rempel i think u should read the pretty little liars series it sounds kinda like what u described. its about 4 ex-best friends getting creepy text messages after their other friend dies theres a link at the top of this page for their website (the icon with the girl on the front that says wicked) anywho cant wait for splendor!!!!!

I love the series but I'm actually happy to hear it will be ending. I've always preferred short series that conclude what happens to the characters rather than dragging it out forever and making it lame and unbelievable and no one ever getting a happy ending. I'm sure it will be a great ending and I hope you write another series after about new characters!

Wow I just finished Envy like an hour ago, I cannot wait till Splendor! I think out of your three books, Envy made me cry the most. I was not expecting Elizabeth to marry Snowden, that was a big surprise, and Henry going off to war that was a surprise too and then well Diana going after Henry huge surprise. Please don't let Henry, Diana, or Teddy die in the war! As for Penelope and Lina I really hate them, and as much as I hate Lina I kinda hope she ends up with either Leland or Tristan. I hope Penelope gets run over by a carrige. Anyways I can't wait for Splendor, do you have any idea when it's coming out?

i love all the luxe books but i'd have to say rumors is my personal favorite. ever since i read the luxe in 2007 i found myself wanting more and being caught up in the characters. i couldnt wait for the second book to come out and when it finally did i was overjoyed. then envy came out and i cant even tell you how excited i was. i wish i was smart enough to build a time machine so i could go back to that time. you did such a wonderful job with these books from the scandals to the details of dresses. i cant wait for splendor! AHH! i'm so excited!! ;]

The Luxe on the big screen?? that would be amazing. Diana is by far my favorite character( i would love to play the part ;D) i see so much of myself in her it's scary. i bawled my eyes out when she decided to go after Henry because i would do the same thing even if it meant parting with my hair.

Hey, I ADORED Envy, i read it in less then two days. Diana is spectacular, and Elizabeth is so strong...The twist in her life was like...amazing. I never expected it. okay so i just googled Splendor and Harper Collins Publishers says that it will be released October 1, 2009!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i'm soooooo excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

in England Evny still isnt in the stores! i hope i will be soon. Im so excited! Anna thank you so much for writing these books because they have really opened my eyes to like the 'historic world' and currently im doing a course in Nineteeth century fashion and litriture (still cannot spell it right) please dont stop writing books! id love to read more! kayy so: 1. elizabeth, then penelope then lina were on the covers. diana hasn't been yet. (how do you get involved in that process of being on the covers?) 2. envy was amazing! soo i know that most people don't like unhappy endings, but i think that's what makes a book amazing, like this one. i was actually really happy for lina when she got the inheritance, but she should tell leland the truth. and why did diana chop all her hair off?! the concept was terribly romantic, but still, how is she going to find henry? and elizabeth and teddy should have an affair, and then she just confesses everything in an interview and she's all good. i feel really bad for grayson too. but oh well. annd i do want penelope to be happy. despite what everyone thinks. 3. if there was a movie coming out eventually, would you post information so people could audition? 4. this entire series is amazing, and i devoured each book. when's splendor coming out? because i can not wait!

1. oops! i guess envy was cover shot with diana! i just felt like the model looked so much more like lina to me! as a diana, i pictured her more short and darker hair and eyes. but the model is gorgeous... so i wonder what lina'll look like?

Oh my god i loved Envy so much! I can't wait for Splendor, so i can see what happens to everyone. Diana is my girl, I love Henry and Teddy soo much, I want to give Penlope a good beating, and i don't know whether I want to slap Elizabeth or give her a hug. I really want to see who's on the cover of Splendor and I pray to god it's not Lina (i kinda like Lina, but I think it'll ruin the covers of the book) so how bout Henry? if he was on the cover, and of course he'll be gorgeous, then my heart WILL stop when i see it! Again, can't wait for Splendor! October is soo far away!

I am now an addict in this book series, I am one who loves History books like this, that add flair and all! My only question is will there ever be a possible movie? I know that alot of people don't like having there books become movies, but man I would love to see that movie! I just finished Luxe yesterday, and I had it only last week, which is really fast for me! Thanks for these books, they are truly amazing!

I think Envy had a lot of potential to be great, but just when everything seemed to be on the verge of working out, something messed it up. In the end, I was a little bit disappointed with Envy, but it didn't stop me from loving the series. I am looking forward to Splendor, and finally, a satisfying end to all of the characters problems.

I absolutely love these books! They are amazing!!! Although, after Envy, I really did want to slap each of the characters. I really do hope they all get their happy ending, though. I can't wait for Splendor!

Hey,Anna. I think some people here have some rlly great ideas. u should rlly consider making 1 w/ southern bells. Also I have a feeling that mr. Cairns had something 2 do w/ Wills death. In envy he was like telling liz she wasnt mrs keller and he seemed like he wanted 2 marry her.

Envy was GREAT!!! i LOVED it!! i am soooo curious to find out what is going to happen in splendor... i hope you don't let Henry die it the war! Or DIANA!!! that would be soooooooo sad...i hope you plan on giving them all a happy ending but considering that your biggest insperation doesn't have happy endings i don't think you are gonna give them a happy ending.. keep writing!!!
