THOMAS–OUR LONG LOST VALENTINE

Well...since my last post about Ariana, your comments have been amazing and insightful. Love her or hate her, you definitely have a lot of intriguing things to say about her. And along the way, a few curious questions about Thomas were posted, as well. Thomas walked in and out of Ariana and Reed's lives rather quickly, but he made a huge impact. Love makes people do some crazy things, doesn't it? It inspired Reed to lie to the police, and it pushed Ariana over the edge. Based on your comments, I'm guessing some of you are finding Thomas hard to forget, too...and I'm with you! So, since it's the season of valentines and celebrating love, I'd like to know what it is about Thomas that makes so many hearts (Reed's, Ariana's, yours, and mine!) skip a beat. We knew him so briefly, but he definitely captured our imaginations. Oh, Thomas...here's to you!

Hi Kate. I just wanted to say that i think the Private series is amazing! Privilege too. I cannot wait until Paradise Lost comes out and it will be even harder to wait for Beautiful Disaster. But what i think makes everyone crazy about Thomas, is the way you described him. I think every girl likes a bad boy and then you add his stunning features in there and its the whole package. =] And the way he completely swept Reed off her feet without any hesitation or doubt in his mind. But I like Josh too! I think you're an amazing writer and i look forward to reading every book of yours that comes out! =]

hi, 2nd comment again. i liked thomas because he was inroduced as the first hot boy reed meets. i find him really sweet the way he hands little tokens out. ow and by the way kate, i wanted to preorder the new book as usual, but amazon said its unavable so i was wondering whats up?! anyway loving thomas! rip! ellie...x

Hi Kate!! Just have to say that you are the most amazing writer I have ever read books from! the private series is definitly my favorite series and im getting all my friends hooked on it! I cannot wait for Paradise LOst and more to follow! I think what makes everyone love Thomas, or at least me, is the fact that he was going to change who he was, because of Reed. I am infuriated and depressed that he had to die. He was sexy, handsome, and just amazing. Although, i 100% love Josh Hollis too =) Cant wait for more! loving thomas....katie <3

Heyyy Kate. I just wanted to say that i love your books, and that i CAN NOT WAIT for paradise lost. But i will say i really didn't like thomas cause he seemed like one of those total players. I personal liked Gage Josh and Dash way more.

I think what made Thomas such a memorable character was the fact that he was such a bad boy. And certainly very mysterious. Plus we never really got to know him, we never found out why he was a dealer, and how he actually felt about Reed. I would LOVE a series about Thomas...it would be ah-mazing! =)

OMG Kate!! Yay! I ah-dore Thomas. He reminds me of Chace Crawford (whom i LOVE!), or at least, that's how I picture him. I love Thomas because he has that factor that makes him so irresistible even is kinda a player. Like, you hate him, but you love him!! He's sweet too and I love guys that are funny, too. Thomas is just... ahh! I love him. And Josh too :D I hope him and Reed get back together!! I cannot WAIT until Paradise Lost and whenever the next Privilege comes out!!! Thomas was definitely a jerk, but he was so charming at the same time. Josh may be with Reed now, but I can't seem to like him- Thomas was just so much better with Reed. How she moved on so quickly I don't know. I felt bad for Arianna, and how he left her for Reed. But I love how he always goes after what he wants and will stop at nothing to get it (her, more accurately).

(ONLY 12 TO GO !!:DD) i loved thomas in the books that he was in !! i think i loved him so much because he was the first guy that was introduced to reed in the book private, he has the bad boy effect but he was also so sweet !! i liked him so much because he was willing to do anything for reed!! but i will never like anyone more then josh !! josh is just so sweet ! in revelation when everything in reeds life was going wrong he was still so sweet to her ! i hope him and reed get back together! love always, emily ?

hi kate! I think what makes Thomas stick in our hearts like he does is that well... he's really a charmer. I think that's what makes a girl fall for a guy in the first place... but once Ariana and Reed fell for Thomas, they got into something they could never get out of. Maybe the thing with Thomas- and a lot of other guys out there- is that he thought he'd fallen for Ariana, but then when he met Reed he totally changed his mind. Maybe it was also that he got that warning once he saw how crazy Ariana got. But he made Ariana and Reed fall for him so much, that all they thought of was him. I also saw how Reed paid attention to her instincts more than Ariana did. Like when Reed found out Thomas was a drug dealer, she watched out for him more. But when Ariana saw how Thomas had left her, she went too far to try to get him back. Thomas was a special guy. He knew how to read the right girl's heart. But it became a problem when he made a big comittment to Ariana that he couldn't fulfill. And maybe he knew he wouldn't fulfill it from the beginning. And when Reed came, I think that really changed Thomas. Well, it's just a thought (a looong thought but oh well =D) -Julia

I absolutly loved Thomas when he was still alived. I wonder how his relationship with reed would have been if he was alive. i have always likedjosh the best. he is so sweet and i cannot wait for paradise lost. and i feel sorry for ivy. ithink she deserves josh for a little longer. and i really like her now

Hey Kate, ahh, your the best. Okay. Thomas? Well lets see, i liked Thomas because I really thought he loved Reed. And he was Reed's first real love, or so we thought at the time. But then his true colors really started to show, after he died. Im still sort of confused if he really loved her, or he just played her, like Ariana... But I Love Josh! He is so sweet, and perfect for Reed. Not Ivy, please fix them!!!

Kate Brian, I totally love this blog. LOL. I practically screamed when I read it. Anyways, I think I've said this a million times already but whatever, "I love Thomas!" And personally, I don't like druggies or guys who are involved with those stuff...but Thomas is different. Maybe because he's a fictional character or something but just reading about him in the first Private book made me love him. I was confused about him when I read when Thomas hurt Reed in the woods. But when Thomas came back to Reed and he said he wanted to change, it made me...feel for him. Like him. Respect him more.

BRIANNA: I totally agree with you. I'm confused on whether Thomas really loved Reed(like when he said this to Ariana) or if it was just an infatuation or another hook up. But I like to believe that Thomas really did love Reed and really did want to change for her. He was willing to tell the police what happened last christmas. I think the fact that Thomas wanted to change his ways for Reed, was what won my heart.

BRIANNA & JACQUELINE: i feel the same way. i'm like, did he really love her or did he just like throwing that word around? which would be why the idea of a private book from his POV would be an awesome idea. we could see what was REALLY going on in that beautiful little brain of his :). and my infatuation with thomas pearson...ahhh where to begin?? it's that bad boy style...it's so......CAPTIVATING. he knows what he wants and he doesn't stop to get it. he knows all the right things to say at all the right moments and all the right ways to say them. his CONFIDENCE gets me, i guess i should say. it's more than cockiness or arrogance. b/c those are just ugly...no, his is just plain confidence which makes him so intriguing!!

Hi Kate!! i absolutely LOOOVE the private series! And the beginning of the Privilege Series. I've gotten so many of my friends hooked on the book that they can't put the books down and can't wait to read the next one. I just finished Privilege and i HAVE to know what happens next! I love what you've made happen to Ariana. And then i just read the first chapter in Paradise Lost, and I'm so intrigued just with the first eight pages! I really want Josh and Reed to get together : ) But i think why everybody loved/loves Thomas is because he loved Reed so much that he was willing to change himself for her... which i think is so sweet! : ) can't wait for the next book and the others that follow!! <3 Lydia : )

I love Thomas he was a chacthter with many flaws, and many bad traits about him like drugs, playa ect. but despite all these flaws he is still able to prove to us that he still cares, and thats he really is sweet. It gave me hope to think that a bad screwed up kid like Thomas can actully develop real sweet feelings 4 Reed, also he was so unperdcatable and NOT cheesy like Josh... I find josh kinda boring and annoying....I always was atttracted to the bad ones like Gage, Thomas, Dash towards the end.. and Noelle's my fav chachter.. i guess this says i just like mean bad ppl....

I absolutely loved Thomas! He was so mysterious and dangerous! I hated that he was killed off so quickly but then again it did make for a great series! I love Private and Priveledge and cannot wait for Paradise Lost to come out! I really hope that Reed and Josh get back together but I still kinda want Ivy to be happy cuz I'm beginning to like her a lot! And Reed better get back into Billings or I don't know what I'm gonna do!

I loved Thomas, espically after Priviledged.i think every on likes a bad boy, and some one who can sweep you off your feet.But no matter how much i like Thomas i LOVE Josh (i know that sounds weird). OMG 12 more days till Paradise Lost!!!!!i cant wait!!!!!!!!!

The reason we all love Thomas so much is because he has IT! You know the whole heart stopping, can't breath, mind blank THING! Everyone has had that moment I know that I have, and I'm sure Reed had it like all the time! Thomas as we all know is very hot, we all have our own different Thomas, but when you picture him is it his beautiful hair or his amazing eyes, or is it his HUGE biceps. For me it's his eyes, his significantly, mysterious, knowing eyes!! It took me a while but I finally figured it all out.

Hey everyone! First i would like to say is Happy Valentines Day! second, there only about 12 or so days left until Paradise lost. Whoooo! Kate, the reason i love Thomas is that, he's kind of like the guy every girl dream of. We know he had problems, but he knew how to treat a girl. He can make any girl skip a heart beat. but then he can be dangerous, but kind and sweet. I just love him. and Josh. Of course.!!!!

LYDIA: I want to explain more of the whole thing when you said that Thomas was willing to change for Reed. I believe that most girls want to change a guy, for the better. It makes the girl feel better about herself that she was able to help somebody be their best. And that's one of the reasons I love Thomas. Thomas, a guy, who was willing to change for a girl.

Thomas is also a mysterious guy. That's probably why we also like him. He's a mystery. We're so intrigued with his feelings for Ariana or Reed or any other girl. We want to know what the 'bad boy' is thinking. And with Thomas' past. That's definately still a mystery, of some sort. And I also have to agree with LACIE. Thomas has that confidence about him. He is who he is. My friend described him as, "foward", when he was with Reed. He knows what he wants.

i think that this series is great and can't wait until the next book and Thomas is the mystery man that ever hate but love and he been around with the girls including Reed and Arinna but had the same feeling in different point of view arinna love him but to kill wad not the best thing abd reed love him but would kill for it there girls out there that are better lol so thomas would be on lot of girls mind this Valentines Day even reed and Arinna and others

Thomas Pearson.. ahhh... I miss him so much! I absolutely love the Private series, a friend introduced them to me and I've read Private, Invitation Only, and Untouchable in three days. So amazing.. I can't put them down!!!! I get in trouble in class for not putting them away hahah. Definitely obsessed with these books! Thomas Pearson is/was one of my favourite characters! Too charming, mysterious, apparently good looking haha,... I cried when he died..! :( Personally I did not care that he was a drug dealer, he's too amazing... Thomas is simply too .. good!!!!

Dear Kate, i <3 how u decided to write more on you're blog, i pretty much stalk it every night b4 i got to bed to see if you've written. I think Thomas made such an impact on everyone is because he's the bad boy, and everyone, deep down, loves the bad boy. He was the first guy to capture the readers hearts (and Reed's and Arianna's). he's the real reason behind the whole series. If it wasn't for him Arianna wouldn't have killed him, Reed would never have fallen in love and never have had to try and find out who killed him. Its going to haunt their two paths from now on b/c he just keeps coming up. I also wanted to know when you're going to make a movie!! you'd have tons of supporters. i got 2 friends hooked on your series and i'm working on the others. You could have the movie elected w/ the hottest cast EVER!!! I can't wait for Paradise lost to see what crazy thing is going to happen to reed next. (i think this is the closest to the top i've ever been. LOL)

I think we ALL heart thomas is because he is what every girl dreams of. He is nice, gives you little trinkets, and has incredible good looks! :) He also has the bad boy allure that makes him that much more lovable. :D Also, i cannot WAIT until paradise lost, I need to find out more about reed and josh!

GIA: Whoa...That's deep. LOL :] NIKKI: I totally agree with you. Everything that happened in the series is about Thomas. Cheyenne would have never been murdered. Ariana would have never been Briana Leigh Covington. Even though I love Thomas, in real life I would have gone for Josh instead of Thomas though. I would still think Thomas was attractive and everything, but I'd go for Josh. What about you guys?

oh my bad, i was so caught up in telling you how fantastic you and your books are, i forgot to tell you about thomas. haha. Thomas is secretive, and mysterious. He's a bad boy, that's for sure. But when he's missing, and Reed's pissed off at him; we feel pissed too. for hurting reed like that. then of course we all feel insanely bad. because he was dead, and it wasn't his fault. and that's why he didn't contact reed. lol, i like Josh better than Thomas.. sorry! haha. i want to date Josh. PLEASE make reed and josh date again! i LOVED them. ps. isn't it kind of weird, being able to control what happens!? i dont know, that seems weird to me.. lol. instead of just reading what happens.. oh my goodness there are so many things that i love about Thomas. I think that as soon as Reed met him i knew that he was going to be a great character. In the first chapter of Last Christmas when you actually get to read the part where Ariana Kills Thomas he says some thing that make me so happy because I know that he actually changed for Reed and he was willing to comit to a real relationship just for her. Of course there is also the most obvious reason we LOVE him ; every girl loves the bad boy!! thanks so much for writing those books my friends and i love them and now we are starting to see everyone at school with them. I think people loved Thomas because he would act sweet, but then tough and he was just really unpredictable...in good AND bad ways. Personally, I LOVE LOVE LOVE Gage, because he reminds me of my crush. lol. Ironically, my crush's name is Gage [his last name is Rock, not Coolidge though] and he's hot, and a lot like Gage, except not as perverted. lol. ALSO: can you wait 2 or 3 more years before a movie or tv show of Private comes out? I want to be able to audition. lol

I loved Thomas for Reed, but I love Josh too... love him!! and i want them to get back together but anywayss.... what makes Thomas so unforgetable is I think... His kind of bad-boy and that so much was stirred up with him... and so many things happened with Thomas around. And that Reed was able to just let her self go completely around him and tell him everything about her and so was Ariana! it was so twisted around when you find out about Ariana and Thomas and learn so much more about him in Last Christmas! I loved how he was played into the series! I miss him, but I love how he went away like the way he did! haha! I love your books and Josh and Reed!!! ahaha!! love, Katie :)

thomas is that kind of guy who always makes you guess and think about. for instance what he was like when he was little, why he deals drugs, what started that, things like that. and he also is that mysterious sexy the sort of bad boy that people always think about but never actually go up to him. to me he seems like he is untouchable and the only way to get to him is to have him get you first(does that make any sence)thomas was my favorite character hes like that tourcherd soul who trys so hard to block it out. and i think he knows exactly how to get what he wants.

Hey again. Before I start, did you see what I said about Josh's eyes?? Anyway, even though Thomas does all those bad things, we all still can't resist him. Why?? I think it is because he is not afraid to confront you, that he would stare into your eyes until your dizzy until you tell him just exaclty why you aren't into him. I don't think Thomas isn't just someone you can chase after, he has to pursue you first. That's the thing that gets you going,the fact that he chose you, not the you chose him.

Thomas, Thomas, Thomas. I think he stole everyones hearts. He had mine because in some ways he was such a sweet boy, and you could picture him as a sweet little kid. With his big blue eyes, brown hair, and the shy way he acted when he was scared or insecure, he was just the right amount of sweet, cute, mysterious,undeniably sexy and lovable. I'm not sure about you guys, but I really want to know what Thomas was thinking. Especially the part when Ariana told Thomas about Melissa. I thought Thomas was angry at Ariana for killing a person. I mean seriously, killing a person! But no! He ended up getting mad because then the police might come after him. I really want to know what he thought of that. But anyways...I'm glad that Thomas actually wanted to tell the police what he and Ariana did last christmas. He actually believe he loved Reed.

I really liked Thomas and I am really upset that Arianna killed him he was the best, I think he truly cared for Reed and he was trying to change. I really like Josh to except he really hates the Billings Girls more then Thomas did and it kinda makes Reed feel bad, I hope her and Josh get back together in Paradise Lost, I am so excited. I think everyone loves Josh so much more because we have seen him more and his development. I miss Thomas!!!

I can't believe no 1 has said this, but (as quoted from the book) he has this ridiculously sexy quality about him. He's very charming. I'd like 2 k wat he was thinking 2. In his final moments he said that he was gonna change 4 Reed, but was that the truth? I NEED 2 k. I'm glad she has Josh tho. Whoever said 2 read all the Private stories on FanFiction was totally rite. They'r SO great. Also, whoever said that if u order it online it will come early... were u correcto on that? I told ppl n I don't wanna let them down. That would suck 4 me N them. :-I If ne1's looking 4 a movie 2 c, go c Confessions of a Shopaholic. Such a funny movie. After the movie was over, my friends n I went 2 the bano and the toilets were so gross! I washed mine w/hand sanitizer. Now it smells like vanilla! Lol. We were laughing so hard. :-)

what makes me so fond of thomas is that he seemed like the all american boyfriend that you could hate, but then thomas would make u (Reed) feel better the next day. They couldnt stay away from each other and from friends experiences they would have a boyfriend then brake up with him and then the next day they just couldnt stay away from each opther and eventually in the day they would get back together. Althought with the drugs and getting drunk and everything turned me off a liitle i still like him and all guys have there flaws as well as girls do(a lot of times not that extream). I think that Reed couldnt stay away from him because he was the one that made Reed feel really good about herself and he welcomed her the first day and made her feel warm. I have not yet read the Ariana book, Priveledge, but so far all of the comments that I have read have all been good so im just waiting to get my mom 2 take me 2 borders so i can buy it.

(on facebook i have a flair that says "Forget Edward Cullen I want Josh Hollis:D") He is the perfect one for Reed. But you realize her relationship with Thomas she learned from. There were goods and bads & in last christmas you find out he really did love her. Its sweet and sad & Reed will always remember Thomas.I think underneath all the horrible stuff lol he was actually a good guy..Reed made him that way so his last days were the best he was:)

Thomas ... o Thomas, I love him. I think that the bad boy factor along with his mysteriousness and well him being very hott makes him irresistible. I personally don't mind a player because it makes it a little challenging to see if you can keep him and make him feel like you are the one he wants to be with. The fact that Reed is able to win over a a player or bad boy like Thomas is amazing and you feel like you would love to be Reed, or at least have a boyfriend that could be like Thomas in the way Thomas is with Reed (most of the time). But on the other hand someone might look at all his flaws and say that his flaws out way the better part of his personality. So it's just a matter of the way you look at people's flaws and strength's. Though because we are reading from Reed's p.o.v. most people see Thomas as the person that Reed is in love with. So most of the readers will put their selves in Reed's position so they will love him to. I belive that most people do that, which is why most people love Thomas. That is how I see how people will decide if they like Thomas or hate him. I love him but I think I would love him if he was real and I met him on the street without reading the books, he is a type of guy that I like. This is my oppinion.

I loved Thomas in the begining, but after a while, I realized that he kept on playing with the girls' hearts and I started disliking him. I think what makes Ariana && Reed's hearts skip a beat whenever Thomas is mentioned is the fact that he's dangerous but he still makes them feel secure. I LOVED Last Christmas because we saw Ariana's point of view, which I thought was a terrific idea. I Love your novels Kate, && I can't wait to "Reed" Paradise Lost !!

Hey Kate, I just want to say that the private series is absolutely amazing. The Privilege series is too.I cant wait to read Paradise Lost and I think it is even harder to wait for Beatutiful Disater. I love Thomas and think what makes everyone love him is the way you dicribe him. I think that every girl wants a bad boy who also has a soft, loveable side, and not to mention his stunning features. And I love the way Thomas just swept Reed off her feet starting from the very first time they ment. your books are simply amazing. thomas was one of my favorite characters in the series. I know he did a lot of things but some times, girls like the bad boys. I know because it's a weakness of mine :) You just want to make them into a good person. I really wish that thomas had a chance to turn into someone good. But then again there is Josh. That boy is probably every girls dream guy. If i meant josh and thomas together sorry thomas but josh would be my pick. The thing that made Thomas so unforgettable was how he was a bad boy. Kate, I admire you. You are a brilliant author. I live in London so I have to wait months for your books to be in store. I love everything about your books. You describe everything with such careful detail. Your books have made me laugh, cry, cringe and they actually make me feel quite emotional at times. I once started reading at one o'clock in the morning and when I next looked at the clock it was five thirty! I was so tired the next day, but it was so worth it. You know Kate, I don't think it's Thomas that most girls love so much, its the relationship that Reed and Thomas, and Ariana and Thomas had together...well not so much the relationship, those were both pretty messed up relationships, but more so the feeling that Thomas gave the girls. Every girl wants to be able to relate to that. Also, I have one question for you Kate. Why can your stories never have a happy ending, and then introduce the problem at the beginning of the next story. With your books I almost want to take the front of the next book and stick it to the end of the previous one. Its starting to seem like the books go Resolution, Setting, Climax. instead of Setting, Climax, Resolution. I'm usually so angry at the end of the books because of how much of a cliff hanger they are, that I don't want to pick up the next one. Inevitably I always do because I have to know how the problem is solved, but come one, for once can't we have the book end happy. Much Love <3, Katherine

Thomas Pearson was a big player and probably one of the biggest jerks you'll ever meet. But I don't know what it was about him, maybe his physical hot-ness? Honestly, I don't understand why people love him so much. I don't think he's that much of a hero--more like Thomas' sidekick. And I, for one, like the people in control much more than the sidekicks. That's why I love Noelle Lange, even though she can be a b*tch sometimes, she really knows how to make you feel safe. Being on her good side basically means you're unstoppable because she'll stick up for you. And she always gets her way, maybe except for Atherton-Pryce. And I do not like Ariana Osgood that much either, though I sometimes understand her very well. She's got major flaws, and she doesn't know how to deal with betrayal properly. Anyway, Kate Brian, you're my role model because I'd love to become an author just like you someday. Love, Julie T.

thomas was my favorite guy and i couldnt belive he was killed. i really wish u could bring him back somehow. like maybe it wasnt him after all. idk but i really loved him. i cant wait for paradise lost!!! i love all of the private series including last christmas but my favorite book is still conffessions. i hope u keep writing the private serioes and i hope no one else dies cause that would be just too much dead people. i think we all loved thomas becuase he was so straight forward with girls. He never held back on the flirting and knew the exact right thing to say too. although thomas is the hot bad boy i personally love josh and think hes probably a better match for reed.

When I read that Thomas was dead, I bawled. I also not expecting it at all because I never thought of you as the author to kill somebody off. I remember when I read Confessions, I started crying when I Reed saw the picture of Thomas on Kiran's phone. I called my friend, and she said that I didn't even get to the bad part. LOL.

Okay so im basically in love with MANY fictional characters and its becoming some what of a problem lol. The reason why i think everyone is so in love with Thomas Pearson is because he is, well , honestly the object of temptation. Hes got what every girl craves. Looks (totally hot), connections (if u know wat i mean), a heart, and words that basically make u want to cry. Thomas is not just one of those insensitive, obnoxious gyes who cant care about your feelings hes caring, sweet, romantic and the all around perfect image that girls look for. The bad boy fighting to be good just to win the love of his lifes heart really can have an effect on people.

OMG!!I was practiclly balling when Reed told Josh she wasn't coming back to Easton. I loved Josh and thought he was the pefect guy for her. And when he said but i love you and Reed cut him short. oh boy did the tears start flowing. The private series are the best books ever. I highly recommend them. I have never cried so much because of a book, and the funny thing is, i'm not and emotional person. But in the end Reed decided to come back. Yeah!!!! I can't wait to read the fifth one. KATE BRIAN ROCKS!!!!!

thomas has an air of being unattainable. you can never have all of him. there was a time in last christmas that it seemed like ariana had all of him, but she wasnt alone so if he were to put his whole heart into his relationship she would have still had her boyfriend. and with reed, he was doing drugs and dealing with so much other stuff she never had all of him, and all anyone wants is for him to be wholly theirs. which makes him so attractive.

AMANDA:I agree about Dash and Gage. Gage is hilarious. He is just that character that if you were in Reed's position you know he would annoy you but you can't help smiling at his personality. Dash is horrible. I hate how he just is suddenly back with Noelle and acts like he wasn't all over Reed. Not that I wanted them to be together, of course not! I am liking Ivy more now. I think everyone loves Thomas because he's surrounded by so much mystery and unanswered questions. He's like an un opened book, and were all just waiting to get inside. I think you did a great job of letting Thomas in while at the same time keeping him a complete secret. He's kinda the guy every girl serectly wants to find, and be with at some point in her life. <br><br> Thomas is easily one of if not my favorite character from Private. Which is still why I think you should write Private in Thomas' point of view (: haha. <b>I'm just a fan though its your choice. </b>

hey kate:D I just recently discovered the Private series at the begining of January when I was at the store and wanted to get a book really badly. Your series was the only thing that stuck out, but I was reluctant becasue of how long it was... I just finnished "Legacy" at school today, and now I realize it's not long enough! anyways, I was at Borders and picked up a copy of Privliged because it was by you... this was right after I ready Private. So, I was sorta upset that Ifound out Thomas was murdered, especially since I knew who, but that didn't stop me from crying when I read that he was dead. Anyways, I love Thomas:D haha. I think it's mainly beacuse at first, he liked Reed and shows it and hides it at the same time. Does that make sense? But yeah, plus he's hot... okay, okay. I know it's a book, but either wayyyyy he seems hot by the way you described him;P Lol. So yeah, thanks for writing the series:D I wish there were more, seeing as I've been finnishing them in one or two days, but I shouldn't complain!! haha, any plans for a movie, perhaps?? haha. actually, idk. so the private books are a part of my life. im attached to so many of that characters. now im not going to say i hated thomas but i never really liked him. at first he was intriguing but the drinking and the dealing really changed my mind. with the prequel i saw that he could be a good person but he is nowhere near the top of my favorite characters list. Josh Hollis. now THERES a boy to love.

Thomas wow. I think that weather your a josh, trey, dash(whom I can't stand by the way)or even a Gage girl you have to love Thomas. Theres just this thing about him like he's the most popular and confident and all of the above. But at the same times he's just the most hurt lost and let's face it he's broken inside and out. It's like Thomas needs that one person to make him wrap his head around it and reeds that person, and in quoting twilight if I may, she needs him too. Personally I'm a josh person!!!!!! I almost cried when josh hugged Reed in the hospital

Thomas was an awesome person even though he sold drugs. He really liked Reed, and it was nice to see that he really liked her for who she was. It was a really bad thing that his ex lover beat him to death :O! That part made me so upset and i couldn't eat for hours. It was like, tear city! My mom thought about hospitalizing me. i just wanna say, I loved Thomas and his death was a great inconvenience to my mental stability. just kidding about the mental stability, I'm sane. But he was my favorite character, so you understand. I LOVE YOUR BOOKS! Keep righting please!! XD <3

Aren't Sabine and Ariana step sisters. I was under the impression that their parents got married, hence the different last names and the fact that sabine has darker skin and ariana is super pale

ahh Thomas Pearson, best guy so far. I find Josh a little...annoying at times. Oh well, still wish he wasnt fictinal and Thomas wasn't dead, or fictional. I liked Thomas because he was always full of surprises, like most girls want in a relationship. One day Reed wouldnt hear from him, and then BAM he'd come up and totally sweep her off her feet. Love it. Also love Private series like everyone else : ) I'm so extremly excited for Paradise Lost, my friend and I have been obsessing over what would happen in it. We both like reading too deep into the titles of books. So her theory was that everything would be horrible and Reed would go home to where its not much a paradise as Easton has been...at times. And I contradict her because, what would happen with everyone else? I'm sure there are ways to send Reed back to where she came from ( I completly forget where she comes from due to short term memory loss, but I know it rhymes with cruton. unless thats the name of it. then thats pretty sweet). Anyways, I just read the first chapter of Paradise Lost and basically had a hyperventalating fest. It comes out the day after my birthday !! yay... -Alana

ariana and sabine are half sisters. i think they have different fathers but ariana just took on the role to be sabine's father. it mentions that they are just half sisters in paradise lost. btw...it's an AHHHHHMAZING book. very different from the rest. but crazy, scandalous, dramatic, and twisted none-the-less. :)

sooo only 6 days left and im readin the series for the third time lol =) im on legacy which is my fav because noelle lange comes back. its also the funniest one by far.. besides the whole dash/reed scandal lol. so maybe....we should do one of these things about why we love noelle. mine would probably take up the entire space alotted for these things. =) oh and at my school for ceramics we can build any building/living place and im building BILLINGS!!

KIMMY: i just finished paradise lost...and i, like you, normally read ahead :/ this time, however, i didn't. and it was soooooooo worth it. it will COMPLETELY ruin everything in the book if you read the last two chapters first. just trust me on that. you'll hate yourself i promise!! haha jk, you won't hate yourself but you'll probably get pissed!! be patient...it is a virtue for a reason right?? :) haha, good luck on having the will power!

Hey!!!! I love love love your books, they're ahmazing! All my friends have read the books and we all agree that Reed and Josh need to get back together. He needs to leave Ivy and get back together with Reed. Also, how many more books are their going to be? I'm going to be sooooo sad when they end. Private is one of my all time favorite series; it's neck and neck with Twilight and Harry Potter. So keep writing I beg of you and let Reed and Josh get back together PLEASE!!!!! Some people think things need to be short and sweet well I disagree make as many books as you can and trust everyone will read them. I think I've become obsessed and the characters sort of almost seem real in a way. I feel for them the way I do with live people it's kind of crazy. So finally make more books and don't forget about REED AND JOSH!!!!!!!!!!

I think what makes us completely in love with Thomas is, the fact that theres something about him, that makes you want him. He just had so much power over anybody, and he knew it. I think for me, the reason was because he was so confident and mean to everyone except to Reed and thats what made him hot. His attitude of confidence. I think its because he just knows what to say, and how to say it. His mystery ways made you want to know him better, and to see what really goes on inside his brain. Thomas was an amazing character, and i think if he was still in the book, he'd be by far my fave character. He will difinitly never be forgotten and always in our hearts :) hahah. ; rip thomas. </3.

I do miss thomas but only because i thought he was an awesome character not for many other reasons i think some people do lol :D I was a little mad when u killed him but i had to live with it. Can't wait for Paradise Lost

i love everything about the private series!!! it is sooo good, i wanna jump into it and live it : ). i haven't read paradise lost yet, because I'm rereading all the others 1st. But i was wondering if there was going to be another book in the private series after paradise lost of if it is the last one?

got paradise lost early in the mail and read it in one day. loved it!!!!!!!!!!! keep writing and there is another typo in this book too. towards the end it says paige instead of poppy. thoguht you might like to know. keep writing and reading!

my god:) i loved thomas as a character. and i was verrry sad when he was killed. All though, if he had not been, reed would have never gotten with Josh and JOsh is so good to her. well, was. I hope they keep their thing going and he ditches IVY!!! ugh, shes not nice. haha.. love your books:)

Hey Kate! I think the the way you described Thomas just draws people to him. I mean who dosen't luuvvee a hot player? lol PLus that was lke i thnk one of the frst guys Reed met and he just swept her ooff her feet. I found when I was reading the book that i hated to love Thomas especially towards end because I thought he just left her, and the whole dealer thing, but it was a love hate relationship and that's kind of what it was lke for reed too. Can't wait 4 Paradise Lost!

Hey Kate! Lets see, the reason I love Thomas? I'm not quite sure, I think it's a lot of things. One, his character is so intense, you cant help be drawn in and intrigued by him. Also, he's mysterious, you only know so much about him, which leaves you wanting to learn more. Also, he's a bad guy, but he has this chance for redemption that we ALL wanted him to reach so badly. Me and my friend were talking about this today actually! We agreed on the fact that we both still missed him, and PRAYED so much that he would come back in those first few books. We wanted to see that he had redeemed himself! Oh well, we love Josh too. And Hudson. <3

OMFG!!!!!!!!! I just finished Paradise Lost like 7 minutes ago! I'm in shock. Totally unexpected, well actually I did suspect it even b4 the book came out (I said this like a month ago in all my theories). Congrats Kate Brian 4 giving us wat we want while not at the same time. :-) Bravo! Idk wat 2 think. I'm in utter shock rite now. Yes Amanda, I got the book on Wednesday. I totally tricked the saleslady at Border's in2 giving it 2 me. I'll tell u about it some other time cuz I'm effin tired. There's my response w/o spoilers. I loved Thomas from the start. I think it was the way you described him, he's drop dead sexy and I mean who doesn't love a a "bad boy". He had the full package I just love that attitude of his.

I just started reading these books last Christmas and I fell in love. I'm currently on Inner circle due to the fact that I live all the way in Belize and my mom only allows me to order a limited amount of books each time. I also have the book Privilege and I can't wait to start reading that. But I'm really sad that Thomas had to die so soon. I like Josh and all but he's still not Thomas. I thought if he had to go he should have gone when Reed and gotten to know him better. I also read in an earlier comment that Josh and Reed broke up at least that's what I understood. I can't believe it. Why??? What happened? Wait don't tell me I want to read it but oh my I'm so hooked on these books like a wonderful addiction. I can't wait to get Paradise Lost. Also I think that you are an amazing and talented author.

STEPH:: I like Graham and Sawyer. I was a little disappointed that Josh wasn't in the book except for the 1st chapter. I did like Daniel in PARADISE LOST, maybe because he wasn't as mean as Paige and Mrs.Ryan were. And then the very end surprised me, that was really unexpected.

Hey i know you guys love the books like i do. i am a new comer to the website but i have been reading the books the day they came out and i cant get enough of them. i am a little behind on the reading but i still cant wait for PARADISE LOST comes out. i hate hanging on to a really really good ending to a book and having to wait for the new book. but the wait it worth it the way kate brian write her books. i have a question for you kate. where do you come up with such good ideas for the books?? if you rather not answer i can totaly understand.

i love Thomas! I really think him and Reed had a shot of love and i hate ARiana for taking him away! But i have grown to love her in Privelge. Thomas was so great i hope you consider writing a novel about him and what it was like being him...that would be very exciting.

OH MY GOSH!!!! He was only here for a book...LESS THAN A BOOK ACTUALLY!!! But, for me...it was really those sweet encounters that Reed and Thomas had that made me melt...I love the dance chapter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AH that was just amazing...I re-read that part all the time! But seriously, "Tell me your naughty thoughts, Reed Brennan". That is sooooo HAWT!! I love him, but he had to go...I can't wait to read Last Christmas...I just want Thomas back...And the Billings Girls...but I want Thomas the most!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thomas has that mysterious bad boy factor. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. It definitely does in this case! I always love it when bad boys fall in love because they seem so hard and tough on the outside but for them to actually care about someone is super romantic, more so than a sensitive guy that always has an open heart. Cough Josh cough! Thomas fan forever<3 RIP!

I think that Thomas is confused. I read Last Christmas and he was so in love with phyco Ariana. Then he fell in love with Reed and told Ariana how Reed was so much better than her...Also in Last Christmas his other former girlfriend-Mellisa- also thought he was totally in love with her..Do u see a trend?? But-don't get me wrong- I do like him,he was mysterious and seemed to really love Reed, but Josh is soo much beter.
