FIRST TO COMMENT!!! :) I love the first chapter.....never saw noelle as the type to give up!!! Hope Reed knows what she's doing. just reading the series makes billings like a home to us, we can't lose it!!! right??

hmm, I think that the EX billings girls need to realize that now they're just like everyone else, no longer royalty. But I think they're going to have some difficulty with that. After reading the first chapter, its hard to think that they've really given up. But we still dont know if losing Billings will be a good thing, or a bad thing, and I absolutly can not wait to see how everything goes. Not only with everything about Billings, but with Reed and Sawyer. I really hope they get together. And I also hope that none of this effects Reed and Noelle's friendship.

I know reed isnt going to give up. not a chance. and reed will spend most of the book trying to get noelle on board but she will come around. its gonna be great. like legacy when they have to find out who is throwing the legacy and they get all the billings alum to help. bet anything a new billings is made.

In my head, I imagine Billings just started as a normal house until one Noelle-like girl took charge and began to make it into what is today. So while Billings definately stood for so much, with the wrong kind of people it could have easily turned into a normal person. So I think they both need each other. I believe the girls can bring a whole new dorm to power though!

Weren't most of the Billings Girls put in Billings because of their "academic achievements" and whatnot? Or was it just the money talking? If so, then they really need to face the fact that not everything can be solved by money. They should work just as hard as everyone else at Easton. If they get their home back, that's great. But maybe this will turn out to be an important life lesson for all of them.

there is NO WAY that the billings girls will just become like everyone else:ordinary. Just because the Billings House is gone does not mean the girls be "normal", the house was not what kept them together but what the house represented that keeps the girls together; a common bond of friendship. In my opinion the Billing girls will find a way to get through this and still come out on top.

the sucky thing is, I dont think half of them even diserved to be in Billings. How did they get in? by having their mom/aunts/grandmas in Billings. By getting their daddies to give a ton of money to the school. And we all know the things they did and how they acted, getting the smart ones(IE:Taylor)to do their homework, getting others to steal the answers to tests. They didnt even apreciate the fact that they'd gotten in. I think that now(hopefully) some of them will start to realize what they had, and how they wasted it. I'm sure the first billings girls there ever was would not be happy with the way the billings girls we know where running it.

they are most definitely still royalty. yes, the house was what origonally made them get noticed a higher class of people, of higher importance. But getting into Billings was never only about the perks of the house, though I'm sure that's a bonus, it was about getting in with the people who live there. If you live in that house and thosegirls have nothing to do with you, you're nothing, as displayed when Reed was basicaly shunned yet she still lived in Billings until they kicked her out. gettings into Billings is only one step. When you get into Billings, they ACCEPT you, they were never chosen before that one time,, so therefore they related getting into Billings part of being high social status. But the real thing was that they were specifically chosen to live ith the Billings girls. They shouldn't lose their popularity because Billings is gone. They are stil the same peopel that got sucked up to, just without the better house.

I think Noelle is lying. Noelle like to be the hero and suprise people so she seems more powerful. I definitely think, with out a doubt that Noelle has some kind of plan. Im excited to find out whats really going to happen but don't for a secound doubt Noelle. She definitely has something planned even if she says theres no hope!

I think that even though billings was really known as the home for the most powerful and popular girls on campus they will still stay that waay after. I mean like i said it is just another house, the difference was who made the house what it was. these girls where put their for a reason and they kept up the legacy for a reason. Living in billings house doesnt change you into a billings girl, you need to imbody all the things a billings girl is. That is what truly creates the allure that was(and for me still is)the billings girls.

Yeah, true that about some girls not deserving to be in Billings. I like the old, traditional BG better. I don't really like Missy, Lorna, or Astrid as BG. I like THEM, but not as Billings Girls. Actually, maybe Astrid because she's got great personality. M + L are more like clueless followers who just live in a powerful house. Don't like them. I like Noelle, Kiran, Taylor, Ariana, Natasha better. But I love Portia, Shelby, Twin Cities, Tiffany, etc.

Haha that is such an interesting question Rebecca. Umm way back in 2006, when I was still a sophomore in high school and only the first two books were out. I saw it at Borders one night and liked the boarding school mystery idea, but scanned the inside and thought I wouldn't like it. But then the next time I went I really wanted a book and decided to give it a shot, and loved it. And I like it even more 4 years later, even though all the other books I read back then I feel too old for now.

I like that question too. I found out about the books in grade 6, because we read the first twenty minutes of everyday and one of my closest friends was reading the books and she was pretty much obsessed with them, and that was before I was really into reading. But after she moved *sad face* I read one of the books at the begining of grade 7, and I didnt know that they went in order so I just randomly grabbed one, And it was Inner circle. And I was like "woah" when i finished it, cuz I had no idea that it was going to be like that intense. (everything with cheyenne and the suicide) And I actually went and read legacy after that, and then i decided to go back and read them from the begining. But the library never had confessions, so that one was the last one I read. Until Revelation came out. Which came out like right after I started reading the books. Been obsessed ever since. I think its safe to say that the Private/Privilege novels are my guilty plessure.

My mom was telling me how I should read more books because I hated reading. I think people were reading the Clique books so I looked it up, and got related searches. PRIVATE was one of them, and the cover looked cool so I searched that instead. I ended up reading Private instead of the Clique, and I'm glad (:

haha, that's a change. :) the first private book i ever read was confessions, and that was because the cover caught my attention (it's actually one of the best). then i read the synopsis on the back cover and it really got me interested. i never read it till a few months later when i was in a desperate need of reading a book. haha. from then on, which was around march last year, i started buying the books one by one but not in order as i really didn't think of buying all of them but only the interesting ones, which eventually i did. :)

Meanwhile, I had been reading the backs of those books before them while she was rading them, and tha's why I accepted the offer.

kay so i was at target with my rents and went to look at some music and while searching for a cd i saw privat cause it was rite next to the cd i wanted and the covr interested me so i read the back and i wasnt big on readin bacj then actually i never read like ever and the back was good and i thought i wanna read this and when i told my dad he said r u sure will u read it and i said yeh and i did and got addicted and finished the first series in a week it was insane and then after that i realized there r prob good books out there and i continued to read stuff like Pretty Little Liars (which is amazing btw)

I think tht the billings girls will still ACT like royalty but i dont think the rest of the school will fear or respect them as much, i mean most girls just sucked up to them in hopes of getting into billings, now that billings is gone there is no need to suck up. The billings alum is still there tho so maybe they will still have there connections but yet again all the alum and girls were bonded by the house now that the house is gone i think that they will slowly start to fall apart and reed is going to find away to keep them together

oh good question rebbeca! I used to hate reading i would buy books then toss them on my bookshelf never to be looked at again hahaha but when i saw private i kind of liked the cover so i read the back and though eh okay and then i put it one my boks shelf never to be seen again, but then last year we were moving my furniture around and my mom told me to take all the books off my books shelf and when i came to private i started reading it and then i finished it the next day went to the book store and bout the rest i got to Revelation then got bored with them since reed was kicked out of billings and josh was out of the picture but then when i was at a soccer clinic with my best friend she was talking about them and i got courious to who was reeds stalker so i picked them bac up and never looked back hahahaha

In response 2 rebeca's question. I started reading these books in 7 th grade. I was on a long drive with my dad, and I was bored, so I looked around for a book to read. Under my seat was Untouchable, my sister, Rebecca left it there, & I started reading. A few weeks later I got confessions & continued from there! I really really like Sawyer! He reminds me of me! Of course the billings will stay royalty! They ARE the billings girls. Just because they don't have their house doesn't mean that they don't still have all of the connections an wealthy families. On another note, I hope that Reed and Josh get back together! They are meant to be! And they broke up for a reason that was eventually proven to be quite untrue and unfair. Please let them rekindle their romance! They are the perfect couple!

answering Rebecca's question. it was like 2 or 3 years ago when i was in 6th or 7th grade. i love reading and i loved it even back then. i didnt have anything to read so for my birthday my mom got me Private. i looked at it and was like idk if ill like this but i read it anyway and got addicted! i immediately went and got the other books in the series after i finished the 1st. im still addicted to them! they r the best!

Melissa theirs like 14 books total. and rabecca, i started reading them last year and i HATED reading! and now i love to read and i am into the pretty little liars right now! Great books! but i was in borders and i was looking and i saw the books(white covers) and i read the back of it and i really like mystry and stuff and i thought it looked interesting. but i put it back and then the next day i saw it and decided to read it. my mom told me if i got it i had to read it! i finished it that day but i wasnt aloud to go back and get another book! ): i had to wait till we went to borders again!

@Rebecca, that's a good question! It's like old private memories :) I first started reading them a few years ago, back in 8th grade. My friend was reading them and I decided one day when I was bored to try reading private. Within the first book I started to love it. I used to not really be into reading, but ever since then, I count down the days until the next books! I just love love love this series and Kate's writing style, it's serious, suspenseful but hilarious at the same time..

Rebecca, that's a good question. not this christmas, but the previous one, my mom bought me the box set of the first four of them. i really thought i wouldn't like them, so i never even opened the box. im an AVID book reader, and i was home from school sick one day and i had no books to read and no good movies to watch, and i read the first three books the first day. the next day i read the fourth one and made my mom take me to the bookstore. i think they were up to ambition by then, and ive been reasing them ever since. :)

I like that question Rebecca. I started reading Kate Brian others books about 9th or 10th grade im in 12th now. I wasn't sure if I wanted to read Private so I keep putting it off because i didn't want another series to get into but then i finally got the first two and loved them. I had about five to read before I had to wait for the next boook. I love to read but i never expected to get into a "girly" book but I did. Anyways Can't Wait for Scandal!

Oh yeah, private was just the beginning. Recently, maybe half a year ago, I started looking for other Kate Brian books, and I have no read The Virginity Club, Fake Boyfriend and am reading currently Lucky T. I'm still waiting for x-mas and sweet 16 :))And of course, Scandal! And Sweet Deceit. :D When I started looking at her other books, I actually wondered what Kate looked like and googled her. I found her, and apparently Kate Brian is a pen name? Anyways, then I found books by Keiran Scott, like the three I was a non-blonde cheerleader books, and I loved those too! I love anything Kate!

I think that the girls are still the most powerful girls on campus because even though they dont have the house, there still the most beautiful, flawless, smartest, richest, and just in general the best out of everyone. The Billings House was just recognition of how amazing and elite they were. And hopefully theyll make sure no one forgets that by recreating Billings. LETS GO JOSH!!

HAHAHA. my first comment was mysteriously deleted. But I have a question...In the book it repeatedly says there are 16 Billings Girls, but whenever I try to name them all I always come up two people short. What am i missing? REFERENCE BOOKS 5 and 6. (It should be 17 with Amberly)

My camp friend introduced the books to me. I was a CIT (Counsler In Training) at an ice skating camp and she told me in full detail the story from book 1 to 4 lol, after that i went straight to the book store and bought all the books up to Ambition cuz that was the last one out at the time. Me and my friend sat back to back at camp every day that week and just read for huurs lol. Unfortunatley i didnt get any tips from the parents cuz all i did was read but it was worth it!

OMG i knoww isabel. I keep getting ofurteen, but Amberly wouldn't bring it up to seventeen cause reed was kicked out, and then Reed got invited back, but Sabine was removed. So Idk. lol. okay so my FAVORITEEEEEE billings girls are the twin cities! theres this one part in uhmmm i honestly cant remember if its in untouchable or confessions. but its when reed, natasha, ariana, noelle, kiran, and taylor go to the spa together and they were talking about the twin cities and natasha says something like, "London asked me if strawberry milk would turn her bones pink. The best part being, of course, is that i think she wanted them to be pink." it was sooo funny!

My fav Billings girl is prob Noelle or Natasha, cuz Noelle is never lets anything faze her and Natasha was soo nice to Reed after the whole blackmailing thing but i get why she did it she was just trying to protect herself. My fav guy is def Josh. He soo sweet and when u look at all the sh*t hes gone through, like TWO of his roomates dying and being arrested, he just as strong and unlucky as Reed lol which is why theyre so perfect for eachother!!!

No,Julie H, that's not it. Technically, Sabine was replaced by Amberly if you pretend Reed was always there, and Noelle replaced Cheyenne remember? it's always fourteen. no matter how you add it up :P. My favourtie Billings girl would have to be Natasha and Noelle too. I like how Noelle is always so loyal and determined and she protects Reed from almost everything, and Natasha was a great friend and I liked her personality, despite the girl liking thing she had going :P. I don't like Portia or Sheby though, they seem like brats. I kinda like how dumb London and Vienna are, it's entertainging. I also really like Tiffany.

My fav Billings Girls are Kiran and Taylor I still love the original Billings girls (the main ones from the first couple books) Noelle Reed Kiran Taylor and Ariana. They were soo close and so powerful and always looked out fo Reed.

My fave private guys are Josh and Thomas. :) I wish Thomas was still alive cause I would jump into the book and steal him. Yeah, Josh did forgive reed, and he was probs going to take her back before then with the paint brush gift, but then when Ivy got hurt he "needed"to stay with her. >:( I want him back with Reed, but she'll probably end up with Sawyer. I feel sorry for Gage. ivy was the one girl he was actually head over heels for.

I think Gage like, really liked Ivy. He was mad when she got with Josh and devastated when she was in the hospital. Ok, im rereading the books in preperation for Scandal and i just finished Revelation and At the end of the book when Reed and Ivy are trying to find out whos stalking them ivy says something about looking into all of the Billings girls because all 16 of you had a chance to kill Cheyenne! so obviously were still missing people because i counted and only got 14!

Book:Revelation Page:223 very bottom ivy says "it was one of our 'tasks' for billings, we had to make Ketlar keys for all the sisters. it was the easiest thing they had us do. but even if someone had a key, it's not like you guys wouldn't notice that person didn't belong in your dorn. there are only sixteen of you."

the girls are portia, shelby, london, vienna, kiki, missy, lorna, rose, constance, noelle, tiffany, portia, constance, astrid, reed, sabine(im guessing that ever since the incident with sabine, Kate just never recounted the girls. And I dont remember her mentioning the number of the girls ever since it. Otherwise, recounted, it would be fifteen. But it probably doesnt matter anymore, since there is no Billings.

Missy, you misunderstand. What I meant was that when counting the Billings girls, you can't count both Cheyenne AND Noelle in one count because Noelle replaced cheyenne,. When cheytenne died, they were down one, but when Noelle came, she brought it back up to the same number. Then Reed got kicked out and Amberly replaced her-same number again. Then Sabine got out and Reed was invited back--same number again. Get what I mean? You can't include both Noelle and cheyenne in the same count just as you couldn't include Reed, Sabine, and amberly, because then there would be one more than there actually is.

my prediction for scandal: ivy will cheat on josh with gage cause gage loves her. josh will be heartbroken. reed will comfort josh. eventually josh will want to get back together with reed, but sawyer will stand in the way somehow. the girls will find a way to get back billings somehow,even if it means they make a secret society or something. i hope at the end upton shows up and says how he is moving to easton or transfering schools or something that he is near or in easton. so it will cause a lot of drama.and what else?? idk. i just hope this one is longer than suspicion. consisdering we did wait six months. and suspicion was sooo short.

i kind of get the feeling that sawyer is gonna like be the "bad guy" this time like reeds gonna go out with him and whatever but then later hes gonna be weird and i think that it has something to do with how his sister died like that they had a weird relationship and sawyer was way more attatched to her than grahm and stuff and in the last two books didnt he like lose his temper with her once or twice and she got like sscared or something i dont actually remember that part to well tho idk i just kinda get a weird vibe from him

And you can't count both, so I just said the one that she put last, which was noelle. Cause she had counted both of them, when one wasn't there when the other was, she got fifteen instead of fourteen. I wasn't targeting you. Don't get me wrong, but these Billings girl's need to grow up. They're getting old, and immature. They are high schoolers! Eh, and if Kate B. wants to gain more fans, she needs to add more maturity to the books. (And get rid of Amberly, and Missy, if you can.. xD.) I don't find the Billings girls that immature. Yes, they like boys, yes, they want to falll in love, yes, they are power hungry, yes, some are really mean, yes, they fight. So does almost everygirl. They are in higschool, not old people who are about to retire. High school is supposed to be the most fun years of our lives, why take that away just make it mmore mature? Firstly, I cannot believe Billings is gone. I really can't. The Billings house was just as much a central character as Reed or Noelle - it was literally the foundation of how Reed fought tooth and claw to get to the top of Easton's hierarchy. I mean, it stood for everything these girls strove to achieve in life, i.e. the Ivy League education, the fabulous careers, the perfect lives. Now that it's gone, I'm most interested in seeing how the ladies of Billings adjust to life among the rabble. Now that the house is gone, will the other students fear them? will they envy them? or will they just forget the lineage of greatness the Billings girls come from, and treat them like commoners? Whatever happens, I know it will have me gripped, not letting go until I've finished the very last page. Way to shock us, Kate. L

Aha, yay! I made a good comment! Counting today, there are ten more days. And I think the reason Noelle told everyone to move on is because she didn't want to admit that she didn't have any idea what to do. I mean, it's not like they can build Billings. Not without a constuction team, and even then Mr Lange and Mr Hathaway have more power than Noelle and the others, because Noelle's dad knows Noelle, and Mr Hathaway is the headmaster of the school. I think Noelle needs to remain in charge and admtting that she didn't know how to bring Billings back, and being all torn up about it would look like a weakness, make her look like she was vunerable and she has to be in control of everything.

Hey Kate, I just have some suggestions for some new books. I think Reed should go to college and Josh should show up at the same school. They should get back together because I love when they are together and then they should have a baby and get married after a while but while they are in college there is a lot of drama maybe with Ivy but in the end Josh and Reed have to get back together!! Seeing as we're telling our stories of discovery, I might as well share mine. I've been a bookworrm all my life, and I wasn't sure about reading Private at first, but I started running out of books at the public library, so I took the first two out together, and got totally hooked, and all my friends hooked. I have to say, I wasn't expecting Noelle to just give up, she's bound to have something up her sleeve. Otherwise I'm going to be very dissapointed in Noelle.

Well i was at my friends house and she had Last Christmas sitting on her dresser and i'm like whats this and she's like omg its this amazing serious and I had previously bought Untouchable with another book and she's like read that and she basically told me/spoiled books 1-8 for me and i was sitting in her bathroom reading Untouchable while we were having a sleepover LOL good times...

We dunno if there's gonna be a second season. The books in the Privelege are Privelege, Beautiful Disaster, Perfect Mistake, and the next one, Sweet Deceit, comes out in June. Hope that helps!

I know, they seriously need to come back. THEY LEFT. SPREAD THE WORD! Only SOMETIMES you get the book like earlier than the release date if you pre-order. I pre-ordered from Amazon and got my book like a day after the release date, or on. Not sure. But I definitely didn't get it a week early. You can if you're lucky. I'm just gonna go to the bookstore to save time.

I shouldve preordered it : ( but when suspicion came out i went a day early to the book store and asked if they had it and they did! they hadnt put them on display but they had some copies in the back, i was soooo happy i practically screamed loll. so yeah im gonna try that again and if it doesnt work ill just come back on the next date lol i would go every day all week if i had to to get Scandel, im sooooooo excited!!! I don't know of the synopsis of scandal really is, but i think when Reed, Noelle and the rest of the billings girls came back to Easton academy from their Christmas break and find out their own home... THE BILLINGS HOUSE IS GONE! Because of the scandals of the past few years ago with the killings and blackmail within, the Easton board got no choice to closed down the billings for good. But Reed isn't giving on up on this fight as everybody just giving up already, until she uncover the scandalous secret that the academy been hiding the whole time, when somebody wanted to sealed the secret and Reed up for good. Don't even know what is all about it; but thought of asking.

i looked on wiki and simon & schuster and I think vanished is the next one as it's coming out august 31st this year (:D!) and The Book of Spells is coming out December 21st this year. The Book of Spells is a really different name than the rest of them.. intriguing. I was thinking that it could be part of another thing she is writing?

Oh and@ Rebecca, My sister actually was reading the books so it was sometime last spring that I just picked it up, read the back, then read up to Legacy in like a week and a half. I've been like marking my calender for when a new one comes out since and buy it the day it comes out and read it one night then wait in agony for like five months until the next one comes out and repeat the process.

@rebecca no it's not theirs going to be at least 14 and Kate said there could possibly be more. It's most likely a special Private novel like Last Christmas except not a prequel you guys get what i'm saying?

kk so Scandal is coming out in like 5 days. We found out the cover for Sweet deciet(fouth book in the privlidged series) coming out in june. And the cover for Vanished came out, and we know the title for the next book in the private series. Thats like...a lot of information. lol kate needs to blog and like, explain to us the order of the books and wether or not they're prequals.

everyone thought that vanished was the missing nine months, but we dont even know if theres going to be one, I dont remember kate ever saying there was going to be a nine months. people just assumed it. and now we know that vanished is the 12th book in the PRIVATE series. and it says that The Book of Spells is the 13th book in the PRIVATE series. So i doubt its a prequal.

On the simon and schuster websight it said "A Private prequel that tells the true origins of Billings House!" under The Book of Spells.

I was on the scandal page and toward the bottom of the page where it says more from these authors i scrolled back one and it said book of spells with the description under it.

*****LIL SPOILER***** So you guys who've already gotten the book, what do you really think about Ivy? Is she going to really help Reed? I have a feeling she IS on the good side, and maybe this whole BLS will work out, but will take alot of time and effort. BTW! BEWARE! On the wiki site for the private series they spoil the whole books, which I've continued to notice and get angered at. I really dont care if they have it there, Im just warning ppl.

Well, I loved it esp. at the end! I wasn't so sure about the whole BilLitSoc b/c I just finished ready Perfect Mistake and it was a really different idea than what Ariana was going through in her own SS... however, now I want Vanished! When is it coming out??
