kate make sure to pick someone unique. some of the videos seem to all be the same. make it perfect! i'm excited but don't make it like twilight. the movie sucked, i have to admit, but it didn't ruin the book. it was just a bad movie all together. i have faith though!

First of all you guys, those girls are NOT the winners - they are merely ALTERNATES. The winners HAVE NOT BEEN ANNOUNCED. So please, don't be jealous and make mean comments. Obviously the judges saw something in them that the liked. Be happy that Private is even going to be made into a web series! Regardless of who wins, I am still going to watch. -Katie

Apparently the 3 alternates have been chosen and contacted. They are Vee, Melanie and Alaina. They have received paperwork to fill out also, in case they end up getting to be a participant. The three winners, however, have not been contacted (unless they are REALLY good secret keepers). It could be that the "alternates" are just called that right now (not really sure why) and will actually be the real participants. That is what I have gotten so far through talking to many people on Sugarloot. I do not know why they would contact alternates first and not the winners, but I am sure they know what they are doing. Whatever the case, the 3 alternates are great and have very good acting skills. There is no reason to be rude, let them have their exciting moments without all of the unnecessary insults!

Congrats to the winners! I agree, I bet the "alternatives" are actually the winners. Of course the character of Kiran Hayes must be based on looks. She's a model. Not to sound critisizing or blunt, but nobody wants to see a fat girl with ugly features saying "He doesn't even care that I'm a model." Nobody sees that in the fashion industry. As to color, who knows? I'm sure they're not being racist or ANYTHING. The winners will be announced on the 11th. So GL to all of you. Okay. So after hearing this, of course, please take this comments and put them in consideration! PL wasn't your best, so hopefully, Suspicion is just like the first 8 books. This book was not only a let-down, but the typical Private Series disaster. Reed Brennan: Has she not learned her lesson??? This girl is not only selfish, but you would think encountering two murders, breakups, and past friendships, she would realize that it is time to change her life. Yet she keeps being drawn by the "amazing" Noelle Lange and her new "lifestyle". The beginning of the book begins with her visiting her ex-boyfriend Josh at the hospital after the attack went down. Instead of pondering on all of her actions, she would rather have him go home with her instead of his ACTUAL girlfriend. Not only that, but Reed gets mad in St. Barth's when Josh (her EX, mind u) does not call her. Let me provide you with an excerpt from the beginning: (pg 2) "My knees felt like they could collapse at any second. I pressed my other palm against the wall to steady myself, my fingers landing just above a gold plate with a room number printed on it: 4005. Which meant that the next room was 4007. The room I was looking for. The room I dreaded. Deep breath, Reed. You can do this. You have to do this."

Those 3 are being called alternates right now, but it is most likely that they are the actual winners. They probably just will not be announced as winners until their paperwork is done. Hey, who knows..maybe there is still a chance for three other hopefuls! :-) Anyway, I think they are great so they definitely deserve to win.

Vee seems too nice to play Kiran....Alaina and Melanie are pretty good though. And Vee didn't follow what the script said when she says "I sort of missed being back at school for once" but in the the script they meant "I kind of missed being at school for once" which mean different things

Hey all! I'm here commenting an behave of my friend who was one of the alternates. For one no one knew what they were looking for, the odds of getting picked and that was hard. Not to mention 50% of the vote went to "Potraying Kiran" and that I believe went to mainly acting. The ones picked were the best out of the audition. They may not look like Kiran but they could ACT a lot better than the ones who did look like her. I'm friends with one of the alternates, and to be honest this is really stressful for her and (from what I hear) the others as well. You guys saying that "they shouldn't be Kiran" and "they're acting was mediocre" isn't helping! They made it very far in the competition and have to deal with the critism of casting directors and you guys telling them how awesome others did, and how lame they are. If you have any experience in the business you know that casting directors are looking for something, and if that something isn't you; you move on. NOT hurtinig the others who made it. It just makes you look you don't know what you're talking about. Let's all try to be good people and help the winners out. Thanks for listening (or reading more like)! Lila

As an entrant in the competition who felt she had a good chance, I could be angry or crushed or mean-spirited, but I'm not! Do you know how hard it is to try and capture the whole character of Kiran in a one-minute audition video? It's not an easy thing to do! Of course no one is going to have a perfect audition; no one is going to be the best actress AND the most beautiful girl in the world AND fit everyone's idea of what Kiran looks like. It's impossible! I'm sure the judges had a tough time picking with all the amazing entries, and I wouldn't mind seeing any of the three alternates in the series. PS- For everyone saying that they picked "because of looks"...Kiran is a model and "the most beautiful girl at Billings". Her looks are a huge part of who she is. wooooahwoahwooooooooah. ya'll need to cheeeeel. these girls were picked for a reason, they all have something special about their audition. something that stands out. they're all fantastic(: and honestttttly, stop saying "they don't fit kiran," blah blahblahhh. if you read through the terms, you'd see that they're not only casting for kiran. the person they chose might be chosen for someone else. it even says that they don't have to cast any of them. & none of them are tall enough? do you guys realize that kate moss is like 5'5 an she's still a successful high fashion model. casting directors are the professionals, you're not. stop judging. if you were chosen along with those three, you wouldn't be whining.

I didn't win, and I'm asking people to stop being jealous...not that I'm not jealous, I totally am, but the thing is, you don't need to bash people just because they have something you want. Yea, Vee said the wrong lines...everyone knows that, even the judges, but they still picked her! Everyone just needs to move on. Yea, it sucks, but your life could be a lot worse, and it's not like the judges are going to change their minds just because the people who didn't win, wanted to win. (continued.) As for what I think about the "winners" (who we don't know are actual winners yet, what?), Alaina was the best and showed VERY good acting. I think she deserved it. Vee portrayed her character well too, she has a lot of charisma. WHO CARES IF SHE MESSED UP A COUPLE WORDS. It's fine when people do that! It's not like she changed a bunch of senteces from the script to her own liking. She probably forgot the line in her head,or wasn't thinking about it, and improved to get it closest to the script as possible. And people keep saying it's not fair that she won again? People need to get over the jealousy they have towards her. She won because she CAN ACT and has the looks to be a model, which Kiran is, A MODEL. So what if she won again?

This is regarding the thing about looking like Kiran. Yes, I believe that they should cast someone who looks like Kiran so people wouldn't be confused and all that, but Kate Brian said that the judges weren't going to pick people based on their looks. I understand that if there is like an over-weight girl short girl with a different ethnicity from Kiran but can act, shouldn't be casted.

okay so here's proof that the alternates aren't the winners (even though they were all realllyy good) "Sponsor reserves the right to select one or more additional Entrants or other individuals as alternates to participate in the Grand Prize activities in the event a winner is unable or unwilling to do so." ^^that was in the rules in the section "General Conditions"

We know, because they told us...and THEY were contacted. As to not remembering the lines 'S', there were specific instructions that NO ADLIBBING WAS ALLOWED...it was SUPPOSED to count for 25% of the overall score, but it obvi didn't in Vee's case.

Friendly Helper- Adlibbing as in making up new sentences and throwing stuff in there...not adlibbing like changing 'kind of' to 'sort of'.

Friendly helper, all three winners replaced or added a some words into the script, and they were TINY changes, which don't make much of a difference at all. If you watch all the auditions, most girls changed at least a couple words, most likely not on purpose. Vee added "back" into "I kinda missed being at school for once", said "met" instead of "seeing", "completely" instead of "totally", "from" instead of "than", "typical" instead of "conceited", "I don't think" instead of "I'm not sure", and left out "Oops". Melanie added "just" into "It's awful what happened to her",

Alaina mixed up "Now they want us to talk to grief counselors", added "I mean" into "I cry all the time", and said "would" instead of "could". Obviously, all three girls messed up, so if the judges were really going off of following the EXACT script, all three of the "winners" wouldn't have gotten won. So if it didn't count in Vee's case, it must have not counted in Melanie and Alaina's either.

(Cont.) audition somewhere other than online. and then, a FEW lucky people will to find themselves in the right place at the right time, and be discovered. Vee, Alaina, and unfortunately Melanie, who in my opinion kind of scuked, found themselves in that place. so stop bashing and act like mature adults. this is the industry, and if you don't like it, persue a new career.

when and where did they announce because I haven't read anything officially....I thought people were just making up things but I think they deserved it...they did a good job...so what if they changed the words just a little bit...it's not a big deal. You guys will have other chances I'm sure.

OMG!!!! Beautiful Disaster was AMAZING. I tried to make it last by not reading it too much... But that didn't work so well ;] I LOVED IT!!! And I LOVE the names you have been coming up with for guys lately, Kate. Palmer, Upton... They both sound soooo cute!! I was glad Ariana actually seemed to be getting her normal, old life back. Friends, a cute guy (maybe), school. It was great!!! Then comes...!! The twist at the end was perfect. I CANNOT WAIT for Perfect Mistake in October!!!! Really now? Haha this makes me laugh... I mean everyone can have their opinions, but if they're going to be rude, please keep them to yourselves. Personally I think each of the 3 winners did a decent job, and I can see how the judges chose them, especially Melanie, I thought her vid was the best, and Alaina's very talented as well, and Vee just has that model gorgeous look. Best of luck to those 3, and I'm excited to see how this all turns out.

Hey kate! I just wanted to say that it would be awesome if actors you cast for the series could stay true to your descriptions. Have you seen the clique movie based on the novels by lisi harrison? It was horrible because the characters were nothing like the ones in the book, I think this is why "book turned movies" are so horrible. They don't stay true to the story. I imagine the Easton students as sophistaced and very .. adult-like. Your plot rocks, please please please don't change it!

(continued) Personally in my "opinion" these girls deserve this and did an amazing job in there auditions. SO WHAT they didn't "fit" the description of the characters in the book, If you remember Kate did say that they don't HAVE to look like the description. It's stupid yall are wasting your time trying to change the judges choices, when they've already been made. Just stop with the complaining! The judges obviously saw something in these girls that they see in Kiran or some other girl in the book. All i'm saying is move on, let these girls have there moment instead of trying to make them feel bad for winning! Good Luck to the 3 new billings girls:)

I heard some emotion in melanies voice...although most of it was in her eyes, I thought she did a great job. All 3 of them did a GREAT job. I think everyone did a good job but I think them 3 were SOME of the best.

I just have to say from my experience with the clique contest, I was heartbroken at some of the comments I recieved. These three girls are incredibly talented, beautiful, and from what I know of Vee and Melanie, some of the sweetest people I have come in contact with on Sugarloot. You guys NEVER know what the judges are looking for, maybe they want a blonde, or an exotic brunette, it is what THEY want. I saw so many great videos, and I just have to say that even though some of the videos have flaws, everyone else's videos have them too. I bet if you were to have won, people would be on here bashing you too, so be considerate of their feelings.

I loved Beautiful Disaster as I love all Private/Privilege books but had one tiny problem with it. Why did her love interest already have a girlfriend? Not a problem except that Reed went through the same thing with Upton(gag, hate him) in Paradise Lost. (And yes, I know they weren't exactly dating, but it was close enough.) No biggie though, love the books and am so happy with the speed at which you keep putting them out :)

In my opinion, only Morgan looks the part. Her acting was decent enough that I would be surprised if she wasn't picked. Luvva had the best audition. So hopefully the she'll be one of the winners as well. Logen is cute but she just looks WAY to young to be a Billings girl. Dye her hair blonde and she'd make a good Amberly.

Personally, I think Logen/Logan (sry for the spelling error of the name) would look awful as a blonde. It would be an awful idea for her to dye her hair! Are you kidding me? She's absolutely gorgeous as a brunette. I don't think she really needs to make a whole blog about how people need to grow up. It's a contest with teenagers, for God's sake. People are going to be immature, because they're upset. However, I understand what she's getting at. What's the point of bashing the alternates/winners? At the end of the day, haters-you still lost. Get over it and handle yourself accordingly. If you can't even be polite about the contest, do you really think you could handle being on set? I think the haters are channeling Kiran a little TOO much; you can stop acting like a brat when the camera isn't rolling ;]

hey kate i have been meaning to ask you or anyone with an answer. I am in love with the private series and i haven't gotton to the privlege series yet though. I was wondering are you going to make anppther book in the private series or just continue with the privlege series? I agree with everyone else please dont change anything because the books are ahmazing and i dont want the acting to stink like the clique movie did. the books were good but the movie wasnt soooo please wok really hard to make this at least close to as good as the books. I guess with all the confusion going on, who KNOWS who the winners are...but I wouldn't be surprised if Luvvva is one of them! Her audition was very solid, and she definitely looks the part--especially on camera, which is important. Someone may look like a model in their pictures, but since this is a webseries, it's important that the person they pick looks good on camera. And yes, she's 21, but that's definitely in her favor. Casting directors are way more likely to cast someone older who can play down in age than cast a minor. Minors have really strict work limitations and can only film so many hours a day, so casting someone over 18 would be to the directors' advantage. I wouldn't mind seeing her as Kiran :)

Haha, they're filming a webseries - not a tv show or movie. Each webisode is going to be 4-6 minutes long. Casting a "minor" who can only be on set for a certain amount of time won't be an issue, considering they're filming the whole thing in like 3 weeks. Plus it's the summer; minors don't have to do "school."

There were a few people that definitely looked the part, but weren't necessarily the best actors. Like both the Carolines and Ashley. But then there were some who could really act but didn't look the part. Like Alaina and Diamond. They were amazing actors, they just don't fit the description. Then there were the ones that looked the part and could act... wouldn't it have made more sense to pick them? Like Logen and Luvva. They could act and they look the part. But they went for one with the looks and two with the acting ability. They should have picked the people with both.

I think Jessica on the second page,HannaH on the third page and Carly on the first page were all really good they looked real in their acting and they looked like how I pictured Kiran looking they were all pretty! But good job to the winners I guess you had what it takes to be on top ! hehe!

i was soooo dissapointed to see the Fan favorites.. it made me realize that this whole competition is about popularity on this web site. dont get me wrong some of the girls did very good..im not hatin but some of them also did horribly & i think that the unrecognized ones who doesnt have time to cmnt EVERYONES page for a VOTE in return who also did REALLY GOOD should get recognized to This contest is Obviously not based on TALENT its based on how many RATINGS you can get.

I would say only about four of top fifteen actually deserve fan favorite...but if you go back and read the contest rules it says to go out and promote your entry, share with friends and family and get tens. Thats what these girls did. It is a contest site.

so that book was pretty darn amazing, at first i was like what?! new characters but i got over it and i loved it, i do think the girls that ariana hangs with are a little weird, but only because they're not like easton girls, palmer sounds absolutely adorable and irresistible! i can't believe all the things ariana has to go through to get the bitch katilyn N. happy all for nothing in the end, but it leaves me eager for more in the next book in the privileged series which comes out when? and i cant wait for the next book in private thanks kate brian, you never cease to amaze me in your books! xoxo JB
